I guess I'll be the first to contribute to this thread. Yeah, 4 color archetypes aren't very viable right now. But with the tri-lands coming soon if the rumors about the Alara DLC are true, I could easily take the list I have right now and tweak the manabase and it should be viable. I have made Grixis, Esper and America Control lists and there is something about all of them that I really like and something about all of them that I wish they had access to, so this is pretty much my attempt to include everything that I want to include from this cardpool in a control deck. Like I said, with the manabase as it is right now, it's not really viable. But just use your imagination lol. By the way, it's got premiums.

4-color Control (61)

Removal/Sweepers (14)
3 Shock
3 Ulcerate
3 Reprisal
1 Angelic Edict
2 Anger of the Gods
2 Planar Cleansing

Permission (5)
3 Dissolve
2 Negate

Card Draw (7)
4 Think Twice
3 Inspiration

Hand Disruption (2)
2 Mind Rot

Utility (2)
2 Darksteel Ingot

Finishers (6)
1 Baneslayer Angel
1 Inferno Titan
2 Charmbreaker Devils
2 Rune-Scarred Demon

Land (25)

3 Plains
3 Island
3 Swamp
3 Mountain
2 Azorius Guildgate
3 Izzet Guildgate
2 Rakdos Guildgate
2 Boros Guildgate
2 Dimir Guildgate
2 Orzhov Guildgate

Some notes on card choices...

Finishers - The best of the best that these colors can offer in my opinion. The only other finisher I really want to be able to include is Griselbrand, but that's definitely not gonna work with the way the manabase is right now, and it may still be a stretch even when/if we get the tri-lands.

Permission - Had to cut something to be able to include the Ingots with everything else I wanted to include, and Nullify's cost-to-benefit ratio was too restrictive anyway. If I gotta get out double blue for a counter, it had better counter anything. I'm looking at you, Dissolve. Negates I still had to include for backup against removal for my finishers. Man, I wish we had gotten something like Sphinx of Jwar Isle or one of the 'lings. Hey, I can dream, can't I?

Removal - Again, best of the best. Except for maybe Angelic Edict, but I like that it is so broad in its targets and that it really really takes care of them permanently. As a 1-of, with the Charmbreaker Devilses, I think it's worth including.

I really want to be a special snowflake and run quad or rainbow, but even with tri-lands, there's just not enough stellar cards in every build. Grixis and America are definitely the finest tri-colours so far, but I think your build sneakily proves that Grixis is on the top for now.

You're running White practically for Planar Cleansing alone! I'm certain black or red replacements exist for Baneslayer or Angelic Edict. Alara needs to give White a MUCH more compelling finisher to warrant Yore-Tiller. That said, it'll probably be the only viable quad once it does.

Planar cleansing is awesome though. Don't forget the white angel that is also a great addition to control decks to boost up any life lost while controlling!

Yeah, Planar Cleansing is just awesome like 2bestest said, and almost worth it alone. And Overmaster, I think you're underestimating Baneslayer Angel. Black and Red do not have replacements for her. Also I think everyone, even in other threads, is underestimating Reprisal. A 2-cost instant-speed removal for any and all fatties and semi-fatties? You can't beat that in this meta.

Don't be angry. I used the deck planner. This is...at best an AI deck I force the computer to play when testing wacky stuff. This is a really hard deck to win with. However no one ever rage quits on you. And it's not like there's a quick game with this deck. Ever. Basically you hope to god you draw all 3 Switcharoos in the first hand and hope your opponent isn't playing this same exact deck. Ok, that's not really a tactic.

"Whats that card do?"
Nothing.

Edit: smoothed it out land colorwise and curvewise, wondered how i missed the Regathan Firecat, fixed that. Less of the 3/5 dogs, lol. For something different, actually put this together and try it. Get over the blandness and actually play someone with it. It is not easy for the current decks out there to just roll over this deck. It pretty much always forces a long game. Its a horde. And yeah Switcharoo is a D*** move, but you kind of have to have ONE trick at least.

I'm not quite sure I'm happy with the removal package and I tried adding a forest to run Ground Assault. Unfortunately it started making the mana too awkward but the card itself did well. I may cut black for green.

The deck controls the deck through till the extreme late game and usually wins through attrition by recycling your 2 main threats, mixed with additional draw, counters and removal.

Hey everyone I'm new here :)

Heres a new deck I built recently, and I am really enjoying the flavor and aggro style.

Basicly just get your heroic creatures out and enchant them.

Satyr Hoplite & Tormented Hero - great early attackers - better with auras
Triton Shorestalker - for evasion
Hero of Iroas - cheaper auras
Arrests - good for getting rid of annyoing stuff and cheaper because of Iroas
Agent of fates - this is what you want to enchant
Elder Mastery - so crazy good -evasion, damage and discard in one cute package
Burning Anger - this + Baneslayer = winning
Furor, Ordeal and Marked by Honor - meat & potatoes auras
Brood Keeper - Yaaay Dragons

so thats the deck

let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions feel free to comment.

Welcome!

A collection of random thoughts:

I think you could very safely cut Triton Shorestalker from the list and just splash blue for Elder Mastery. This would make your mana a lot better, I think. I would play Truefire Paladin in any Aura deck that can cast him, he's amazing.

I also think that playing the full four copies of Arrest in a deck with Agent of the Fates diminishes his value a lot because they can just sacrifice any Arrested creatures. I'd play one or the other but not both in the same deck.

I think you can do better than Furor of the Bitten and Marked by Honor, as well. Nimbus Wings and Asha's Favor are both amazing because of the evasion they give you and Favor grants Vigilance for cheaper just without the +2/+2.

I'd also cut the Meteorite because it's just bad. If you need better mana add more Ingots because they're cheaper. If you need a Shock, play Shock because it's cheaper.

Some number of Artful Dodge should be on your radar, as well, it's a great heroic enabler because you can cast it twice.

Wrecking Ogre is another card to think about. It is nice to suit up with an aura and it's a game-winner if you bloodrush it. The only "downside" (if you can call it that) is that bloodrush isn't a spell so it won't trigger heroic. Who cares, though, because you just won the game.

Let me know if you considered and/or tested any of these cards and I'll give some more detailed feedback.

You should check out The Monkeem Project v2 in the Ink-Treader thread and let us know what you think over there. I think Ground Assault is worth the splash and black definitely brings the least to the table as far as control (sad, I know).

Hello gentlemen after a great deal of testing I would like to introduce a unique 4 colour flier air beats deck.

2 x [c]Cloudfin Raptor [c/]
3 x [c]Shock[/c]
4 x [c]Squadron Hawk [c/]
4 x [c] Tidehollow Strix [c/]
3 x [c] Military Intelligence [c/]
3 x [c] Niblis of the Breath [c/]
2 x [c] Bident of Thassa [c/]
1 x [c] Baneslayer Angel [c/]
1 x [c] Stormbreath Dragon [c/]
2 x [c] Indulgent Tormentor [c/]
3 x [c] Angelic Edict [c/]
1 x [c] Time Warp [c/]
1 x [c] Soul of Ravnica
1 x [c] Planar Cleansing [c/]
2 x [c] Rune-Scarred Demon [c/]
2 x [c] Siege Dragon [c/]
1 x [c]Griselbrand[/c]

For lands I am running an even split for most but little influence on red in the dual and tri colour lands.

4 x island
4 x plains
4 x swamp
4 x mountain
3 x arcane sanctum
3 x crumbling necropolis
2 x azorius guildate

This is mainly to make sure i hit the dual mana costs of each colour but I have put a larger blue/white mana base to make sure i hit my early game stride into military intelligence draws. Also hakeem if you could show me how to format it I can clean up my post.

For 3 plus colored decks, rather stick to multicolor creatures if I can help it (find them to be more overwhelming and cost less compared to mono colored creatures). Mono colors provide better instant and sorcery spells. With that, constructed the following greenless deck.

It is a straight forward power and control egotistical type deck with added discarding ability at the end (starting to find this a theme with my decks). Green is associated with ground level earth stuff, thus no green equates to less ground patrol. A good deal of the creatures in this deck are flying. Thus, take off. Here it goes.

I don't think this list can work... the more colors you add the less reliable an aggro strategy becomes, even 3 colors is kinda pushing it

The theme for this deck is simple. Overdraw your hand to get to what you need. Counter/burn creatures as they enter the field. Hold up negate to protect an Obelisk or a Kozi. If you run out of cards, cycle your yard with Kozi. Use Banefire/Cycle resounding thunder to finish. Thoughts?

Calling all deck builders!!!!!!!

I need your help to tweak this list. The idea is to make going off with warp world as consistent as possible. I want the deck to be focused on finding warp world and then going off until your opponent has zero permanents. Here is the list

Warp World

A one vs. one deck for Magic 2015.

It seems strange to have a 4.colour deck without green but needing a lot of red sources and only using basics makes the mana tough. I want to make this as competitive as possible.

I am off out but will go into more detail about card choices later. I have put in about 15 hours of testing with different variations of warp world and this one has yielded the best results. I am currently 14-4 with this list with most of my losses being to aggro decks. I have resigned myself to losing to hyper aggro but guard gomozoa gives you a chance.

Monk that is thinking outside the box, probably in a good way. Removing cultivate takes the deck from 90% permanents to 97%.

I haven't played with my WW list in a while, I was testing Pyxis which I think doesn't do enough as a topdeck later in the game. But I was running 5 colors. Here are my thoughts:

The top of my curve (6 mana+) looks identical except -1 obelisk +1 resolute archangel. Obelisk may be better in longer games, but the archangel has saved my bacon vs aggro.

Master of waves is a really good tech with 17 other blue permanents. That said, I think some of your blue choices would be better in other colors. I run 3x arrest and 3x galvanic arc. I think attended knight is better than coral barrier. I think wall of omens may also be better than coral barrier - I think early in the game drawing more cards so you hit land drops is more important than increasing permanent count directly.

If you are going to cut green, I think kor cartographer is at least worthy of consideration.

I had a white version for a long time but it didn't have any draw power and often you sat there with a bunch of 2/2's. I tried staying white but adding couriers capsule. The problem with that is you can't have enough blue sources to make it consistent. I think the only way to build the deck is to choose 1 main colour in addition to red and only have other colours for the late game. I have tried blue, white and green and blue came out as the most consistent.

Here is the comparison between blue and white.

Couriers capsule vs wall of omens - wall is better in the early game and does have some value off warp world. However I have decked myself with it a few times. Capsule gives you more draw power and gives
Warden of the eye some additional value. It also means you can warp infinitely without decking yourself.

Coral barrier vs attended knight. There is not a lot of difference here. Knight is slightly better but when we are ready to win our opponent will have little to no permanents.

Arrest vs guard gomozoa. Personally I have found gomozoa to be slightly better. It can hold off a few small creatures with 1 toughness. Arrest can be better vs trample though.

Kor cartographer vs master of waves. Not a direct comparison but they take up the same slot on the curve. Cartographer is better at letting you cast an early warp but master can help stabilise vs aggro and is insane off warp. Often generating 8+ permanents.

Basically make the above changes and swap the island a plains count. That was my white deck I tested for a long time. I think blue is better though.
