geez, so many dead ends. I wonder if Wizards designs with 3CM in mind. So many times the card is just out of reach or needs a fourth card.

Wow, I feel like the learning curve here is really steep o_o

But then I'm a scrub at regular magic too so.

it sort of is, but you get to learn a lot of it really quickly. the first round is the hardest.

I just finalized my deck and went through all the submissions so far! I'm already looking forward to filling out the spreadsheet. There's some great variety here.

so a thought occurs: I think a fair amount of the fun of 3cm is looking at matchups and figuring out lines of play. to that end, I suggest that, at least for the first couple rounds, people only fill in their own rows. let each player fill in their own match-ups and sort out discrepancies afterward, but give the new folks a chance to think through their match-ups. (unless, of course, someone asks for help on theirs.)

saying this now because I know a good amount of veterans (myself included) will just fill out the whole thing if given the chance, so let's actively pump the brakes to encourage the community.

:( Then you are going to have to give me a few days to get that done if I am required to do so.

Wednesday through Friday hardest part of week to get anything done.

not required. totally fine with other people doing it, I just want to give people who might be interested in doing it themselves the chance. if you don't think that part would be fun then there's plenty of people who'd be happy to do it for you.

I normally do my own line, then do the line of anyone I think might beat me, but I don't post results for at least a couple days in order to let other people have fun. I can hold off for the first couple of rounds certainly.

yeah I do the same. then I get carried away and fill in the rest of it. although given the record turnout that may be more work than it's been in the past.

I'm running a 3CM thread on another forum and the turn out was big for every round so far. After the third round, I allowed players to fill in their own rows and not only was it helpful to me, but it got the community talking a lot more frequently and testing out absurd decks (My deck was: Chalice of Life x2 / Mishra's Workshop) just to see how they would work. It's made it that much more fun.

I don't think we have ever made the contest runner fill out the spreadsheet before, the question becomes if a few enthusiastic yahoos jump the gun or not.
