O.O doesn't work for horror?

It could indicate horror, but it could also just be shock. I would like to see a smilie that unequivocally says "I am scared"/

for clarity, I think it should just be this: with a word bubble that says "I am scared" in tiny comic sans

I don't know how I feel about the like button. on facebook it's a simple way to acknowledge something without engaging in a real discussion, or saying "that's cool" without having any real follow-up necessary, but as a hobby board rather than a social network I'm not sure we need or want that.

I can speak to one element that's in the works, and I'll have to leave the rest for others to discuss. I've been working on designing a character sheet system. The plan is to hook it into your user CP, and allow each individual to have as many characters as they want.

I'm currently about 50% of the way done with the database design, and about 10% or so done with the front-end design specs. The system will launch with d20-based games (3e, 3.5, 4e, Pathfinder, d20 Modern, etc). Sapper has been a huge help with filling in my knowledge gaps for 4e; the rest I'm comfortable with. My hunch right now is that 4e will be done first, with Pathfinder shortly after it, then the others.

After the d20 systems, we'll have to look and see what system would be next.

However... I had to take a break from that to get caught up on my freelance work. I have a bunch of stuff due between now and early May, and needed to get moving on some of it in order to meet deadlines. For now, I'm not going to give an expected date on this system, because I don't want to create unfair expectations. Once I'm able to pick the project back up and get it closer to completion, I'll be more comfortable giving estimates.

As for the other projects - front page, wiki, probably something else I'm forgetting - I've not been involved in their planning or implementation so I can't offer any insight into their status.
