I am currently running end of days with slight land modifications and the following changes:

-1 dead weight
-3 tribute to hunger
+4 Resounding Thunder

Testing is very pleasing. The change may become permanent but even before the change the build is still top notch post-expansion

Wouldn't change out any manas to get that cycling from Resounding Thunder at all ??? Think I'll put in the counter parts with +forest since I'm not seeing any "+gatehappiness2deck" cards..

If you read my post you will see that I said I made land modifications as well. ;)

Also I dropped reprisals for angelic edict after an angelic accord went unchecked for SEVERAL rounds resulting in a loss for me while I had reprisal in hand the entire time. Now that thunder is here I don't feel I really need the reprisal early any more.

First off I'll address land. I run a 1/3rd ratio on all decks no matter what. Seems to work for me and friends of mine that want to try it. This doesn't take into account Darksteel Ingot, Meteorite, or any other land stand-ins, as seen above by my inclusion of the Ingot. Cards such as Cultivate and Armillary Sphere among others are cards I hardly use unless ramp is part of my theme. Telling you all this so you have a sense of what and why in regards to land and such.

This deck is all over the place at first glance, yet deck works for me and here's why... I let people attack me with anything that doesn't seem to have a part of their theme until I see a true threat. Most every creature in my deck is meant to be a major blocker but minor threat, as in why bother to kill it since they are expecting worse?

Resolute Archangel is my favorite part of my scheme due to allowance of damage. Many times have I been to 3-11 life and been staring down near doom (or so they think) with her in my hand, laughing to myself.

Suffer the Past, Baneslayer (duh), Charmbreaker, and Inferno Titan are all win cons.

Ignoring, or at least separating my land preference, let me know what you think.

Other than variety and choice, no reason whatsoever. Actually, I feel the variety gives me a slight edge. it can always be made to 60 though.

Next deck I post is a Mardu creature-less 60 cut.


Edit: I'm missing a card above in Pain.. it's a 69 card cut. I'll fix asap. FIXED

Deck is creature-less, so no Kozilek, however the Obelisk fits perfectly.

The cards you mentioned not having other than Reprisal, Skullkrack and Darksteel are all win cons tied together. As it's creature-less deck I had to use lifegain and drain to suppliment. Skullcrack has so many diverse uses that I cannot see myself trading it out for resounding thunder.

As far as Tri-lands, there is no Mardu shard land. I find the deck runs best when my land is available and not coming in tapped.

This deck is VERY, very situational and not just due to its own cards. Winning depends as much on your hand as your opponents.As a creature-less, some of my opponents end up with dead cards in their hand that may have helped their scheme.

This deck is not meant to be a majority winner, but was a challenge I laid out to myself. Every game ends up going quite long and it's win rate is about 50% or less.

All of this should have been put in my deck post above but I was sleepy and kinda drunk :D

*scratches head* I dunno... It totally looks like that from these two Pain decks. Normally I am not a fan of it, as you'll see once I post in other deck forums such as Gruul and I feel it's visible in my creature-less deck.

I would swap Tormentor for graveborn muse. I would also cut reprisal for some number of shock and resounding thunder.

Then obviously swap some rakdos gates for savage lands.

Other than that it looks sweet.

Yeah, I haven't digged very deep into the expansion so far, but there are for sure better land choices now :thumbsup:

As for my tormentors: I really like the 5 damage in the face of the opponent, if he has no flyers :evil:

I will consider the removal changes you proposed though.

One Tormentor does look like it is replaceable. I'd cut two lands since you have all Ingots.

Either way imho I'd add more ETB creatures. Banisher Priest is pretty cool with seance if used on opponents turn to steal their attacker giving you an extra chance of not being hit.

Exactly! The priest is one of a few that could combo with Seance better than Tormentor if you're looking to mess with it.
