When you soulbond two creatures, they're on the same side of the battlefield, so you can just put them side by side. That isn't so easy with stalker, especially since your opponent may object to you touching his or her cards.

My instinct tells me that players can handle tracking it, if they can handle enchantments on their cards, but I could be wrong. Part of me doesn't want to change it, but if you think its really too much of a memory issue, we can work with a stalking counter, or something.

Hypothetically speaking, in meatspace terms, I could include something like the Innistrad check-cards with all the stalkers in the set on it, to be marked and placed upon a stalked creature to remind players who is stalking a given victim.

Also, for what the set needs now: More Enchantments. More common artifact/colorless cards. I'd like to work in a verticle cycle or two (because I enjoy those). Archetypes are looking well-ish supported, but could round them out a bit more, especially tempo. More relevant weenies.

Some names/flavortexts could use reworking.

You could take a look at various core set commons and see if there are any effects you're missing at common. All the colors need a range of creatures at different mana costs, as well as various spells and utility cards. For example, white usually has a combat trick, a Glorious Charge, lifegain, something that grants protection, conditional creature kill, a positive Aura, and enchantment removal.

You should also make sure that there are enough cards for each archetype. For instance, if you want an Innsmouth deck to be a thing, you should have enough common frog people, maybe one or two other commons that reward frog tribal, and one or two frog lords at uncommon.

I can make some badly designed commons, but I don't know the source materials, so I'll probably look at that tabletop game about stopping an ancient old one from being summoned for ispiration.

I can always rework flavor. Making a workable set is my first struggle here.

The easiest way for stalkers to work is just have them across from each other on the table. This does become a problem in multiplayer but meh.

That was more or less my original thought.

So... Needing more flying. Some more enchantments still. Completely in the dark on what I'm doing with Planeswalkers. More madness/mill/seeker enablers that aren't so overt.

Added some cards I feel kinda meh about flavorwise. I guess they can't all be winners. Hopefully the ennui of the rest masks that a bit. Otherwise, always willing to take suggestions on improving anything.

I suggest an enchantment/aura flavored around madness, with madness, that forces attacks. Combos with some stalker stuff.

A couple of cards I made trying to get the flavor of a white flyer.

Loud announcer:2::w:
Creature- human advisor
When cardname enters the battlefield tap up to two target creatures.
We are proud to announce that we will recite te king in yellow this evening in the main plaza, come to see us!

Maybe the flyer could be a 2/1 spirit with midnight guard's effect flavored as trying to ke stop someone from entering somewhere?

I have an identical card to Loud Announcer in blue at the moment. Also, it references TKIY, but doesn't really flavorfully do much else. The Hastur mythos is one of my favorite areas of the Mythos, but I'm still deciding how implicit or explicitly I'd like to pay homage.

I have a "Blackwing" (Byakhee) in each color except Green and White now. Could probably make one fit in white for another flyer.

I'm of the opinion that the set should have no paladins or monster hunters. You can't fight the Mythos.

Some thoughts on Limited draft archetypes:

: Seekers. A tempo deck that relies on seeking to trigger "when this reveals a card..." bonuses.
: Mill. A control deck that incrementally grinds the opponent's library away.
: Madness. An aggro deck that discards cards to power out spells.
: Monsters. A midrange deck that ramps into horrifying beasts and Elder Gods.
: Druids. A tribal deck, similar to Elves, which abuses tokens and mana production.
: Enchantments. A control deck that curses its opponents and warps the fabric of reality.
: Arcane. A combo-like deck that pays life and sacrifices creatures to power out spells.
: Stalkers. A midrange deck that powers up by stalking and killing enemy creatures.
: Humans. An aggro deck with creatures that are undercosted but vulnerable to the Mythos.
: Mutants. A tribal deck that overruns the enemy with slippery frogspawn.

That would help draw a better distinction from Innistrad, and I think I agree there. Will rework the flavor on the knight.

I think Hello World is on to something. Maybe the seekers trigger whenever anything reveals a nonland card, so you have an incentive to draft a lot of them together.

I was thinking about having the commons only care about what they revealed and uncommons/rares care about anything being revealed.

Maybe only the things your opponent reveals?

Foolhardy Explorer

Creature - Human Scout (C)
2/2

Seeking (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player reveals the top card of his or her library.)
When you seek and find a land card, sacrifice Foolhardy Explorer at end of combat.

One foot in our world, one foot in the grave.

Fearful Sentry

Creature - Human Soldier (C)
2/3

Seeking (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player reveals the top card of his or her library.)
Whenever you seek and find a nonland card, Fearful Sentry gets +1/+1 until end of turn.

What lurks at the edge of the firelight?

Professor of Mythos

Creature - Human Advisor (C)
1/2

Seeking (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player reveals the top card of his or her library.)
Whenever you seek and find a nonland card, you may draw a card, then discard a card.

"This should not be possible..."

Disturbed Dreams

Sorcery (C)

Target player reveals the top three cards of his or her library. Put one on top of that player's library and the rest into that player's graveyard.
Draw a card.

"Do we dream of it? Or does it dream of we?"
-Writings of Khazrad

The King in Yellow

Legendary Creature - Horror (M)
3/3

When a spell or effect causes The King in Yellow to be revealed from anywhere, you may put it onto the battlefield.
When The King in Yellow enters the battlefield, each opponent exiles a card from his or her hand.
Nonland cards that share a name with a card in exile can't be cast.

Nightmares are his stage, and the world his audience.

I do like changing to Seek and find, but I'd like to keep open the hand, as it allows for more design space with it, and it works with the random subtheme.

I've been super busy for work the last couple days, but I love all these ideas.

Okay, idea here.

Investigate [player] (When investigating a player, that player reveals a card from his or her hand, or the top card of his or her library if he or she can't.)

Attacky Dude
Creature - Human
Whenever ~ attacks, investigate defending player.
Whenever you investigate and reveal a nonland card, you gain 1 life.
1/2

Value Dude
Creature - Human
When ~ enters the battlefield, investigate target opponent.
Whenever you investigate and reveal a creature card, put a 1/1 white Human creature token onto the battlefield.
2/2

Filter Guy
Creature - Human
: Draw a card, then investigate target opponent. Discard a card unless you revealed an arcane card.
1/3

I dunno, I like action words. Don't necessarily need to specify player, you could just have "Investigate (Target opponent reveals [...]).
Also made it so the top card is only revealed if the hand is empty, just because hammering the top card of someone's library with multiple Seek effects is sort of boring.
Sort of changed the name just because "Seek" doesn't sit right with me as a verb, not really sure what the exact flavor you want is.
