Every time I can't string words together for ****, you guys get more of this.
Nightmare mode challenge... NO FUNNY PROMPTS.

Quote:
Raleris, the Lorekeeper attempts to explain everything to Maral, Celestial Wright, but Raleris realizes he doesn't know anything about it!
... this is only unintentionally funny, because it's so staggeringly likely.
Quote:
Morgan of Voor interrupts a conspiracy between Vasilias, Lord of Ariva and Kahr-ret-Taris.
It is a matter of kings. You are unwelcome.
Quote:
While investigating mysterious ruins, The Shifter was attacked by a Camarid. Now, The Shifter is seeking revenge.
Someone pass the **** butter.
Quote:
Nasperge chases Raiker Venn to Ihn Gallad and Jakkard. Upon landing on Jakkard, he interrupts a conspiracy between Beryl, the Heart-Scarred and the other 'Walker.
Geez Beryl... what the hell have you gotten yourself into?
Quote:
The paths of fate have converged and Huinn, Last of the Darkwings attempts to frame Chardis of the Dual-Walkers because Chardis is searching for The Chaos Ring.
Well... Syl DID warn you Chardis. The Bird is an unpredictable and dangerous enemy.
Quote:
Illarion Vale blindly jumps to New Phyrexia. There, he converses with a planar native and later offers to take his new companion to see the multiverse
.... ILLARION YOU TWIT!
Quote:
Alessa Rehn chases Aloise Hartley to the realm of Ashkanar-That-Was, on the plane Ashkanar, a strange distortion in the Blind Eternities--a phenomenon known as a Mutual Epiphany--outside of the continent of Sarpadia, on the plane Dominaria, and Naya. Upon landing on Naya, she comes into conflict with the other 'Walker.
I'm strangely worried about what the two could be fighting about....
Quote:
Huinn, Last of the Darkwings begins searching for The Darkmantle.
I don't even want to think about what would happen...

Barinellos, your definition of "funny" must be narrower than mine. Half of those still made me chuckle.

Maybe I'm conditioned to think the prompts are all funny?

Ygraine of Segovia finds herself in command of a very strange army comprised of Rhinos, Incarnation Minions, Licid Assassins, and even Graveborn Bear Warriors.

It seems to me that we've seen something similar to a Graveborn Bear Warrior before. But where...and in what capacity?
Also, Licid Assassins sound like a pretty cool thing to have.

Quote:
The Shifter begins searching for The Coin of Eirene.

I...what? The implications here are...troubling.

Quote:
Denner Fabellian attempts to explain mathematics to Asher, but Asher would rather talk about the importance of a Brushwagg.

This seems like it would be a hilarious interaction.

Quote:
Aamir begins searching for The Coin of Eirene.

Gods speed, dear friend. I hope you find it before the Shifter does.

Quote:
Ellia the Endbringer apparently apparently is forced to do battle with Raef but is secretly being manipulated by The Duchess but is secretly being manipulated by a newly ascended Planeswalker: an Incarnation Miniature Elephant Citizen!

And, here's where I drop the microphone and walk away for the day.

I feel the need to scratch that old generator itch. Let's see what the fates have given us!

Quote:
In the Blue Elf tavern on Xerex, home of the Stairs to Infinity, during a thunderstorm, Nasperge gives an Aubedore reading to Clade in the "Crossroads pattern."

For the corners, he draws the Teacher, the Baroness (inverted), the Huntress, and the Shield.

For the spokes, he draws the Shadows (inverted), the Dreamer, the Oasis, and the Giant.

At the Crossroads, he lays the Ring vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Spider (inverted), which is horizontal.

Clade is visibly shaken by the reading.

Oh, we're off to a good start. Usually Clade is the one causing the shaking.

Quote:
Larasa Farleth planeswalks to Siraus. There, she spends an afternoon watching a rainbow with Sri Hara, Mari Gwynn, and the Primarch of the Ruinforge.

Why do I feel like one of these people doesn't quite fit with the others?

Quote:
Nasperge does an Aubedore reading for The Shifter in the "Crossroads" pattern.

For the corners, he draws the Statue (inverted), the Merchant, the Tempest (inverted), and the Griffin (inverted).

For the spokes, he draws the Priestess (inverted), the Flag (inverted), The Anvil (inverted), and the Ring (inverted).

At the Crossroads, he lays the Orchard vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Throne, which is horizontal.

The Shifter is free to interpret the reading as he wishes.

I suspect The Shifter interprets pretty much everything as he wishes.

Quote:
Syl of the Dual-Walkers attempts to explain an obscure joke to Huinn, Last of the Darkwings, but is hampered when she crosses the path of Kahr-ret-Taris.

Ack! WotW spoiler alert!

Quote:
In the Drinking Avatar tavern on Innistrad, under duress, Nasperge gives an Aubedore reading to Raiker Venn in the "Crossroads pattern."

For the corners, he draws the Well (inverted), the Soldier, the Peak, and the Giant.

For the spokes, he draws the Demon (inverted), the Jester (inverted), the Spider (inverted), and the Ring (inverted).

At the Crossroads, he lays the Flag vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Unicorn, which is horizontal.

Raiker Venn is visibly shaken by the reading.

Nasperge is really having a busy day. I think it's the unicorn that shook up Raiker. Could Mari Gwynn know the gentleman poet's secret weakness? (Horns?)

Quote:
Ygraine of Segovia arrives unexpectedly on Valjan and then hides out on The Wheel.

She has actually been there for the entirety of WotW. It's just that no one has noticed yet...

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred has grown suspicious of Huinn, Last of the Darkwings and follows the other 'walker to Keter. There, Beryl loses the trail.

"Hrmm... there's definitely something suspicious about this aven. Perhaps it's the way he murders everyone..."

Quote:
While searching for Winter's Heart, Raef was attacked by a Sable Archer. Now, Raef is trying to figure out how it happened.

Me, too, now that you mention it.

Quote:
Raiker Venn finds that assholeself captured by a very strange army comprised of Faerie Artificers, Ouphes, Gigantic Manticores, and even Incarnation Wizards.

The generator invented a fun new pronoun!

Quote:
The Magician Nasperge is bored, and decides to give an Aubedore reading to a Copper Yeti.

Nasperge draws the Baroness, the Rope, and the Student, and declares his reading complete.

Nasperge must be tired. Or playing Clue.

Quote:
The Magician Nasperge is going insane, and decides to give an Aubedore reading to a Phoenix.

Nasperge draws the Gravestone, the Path (inverted), and the Ancient One (inverted), and declares his reading very strange.

Man, I am really starting to feel bad for Nasperge. He's inching close to Beryl territory.

Although, that reading would actually make *a ton* of sense for a phoenix, I would think.

Quote:
Mel Odrum attempts to tie Raef to the railroad tracks. It does NOT end well for him...

I imagine it does not...

Quote:
Things have gone poorly, and it seems to be Syl of the Dual-Walkers's darkest hour. But then, suddenly and out of nowhere, Denner Fabellian arrives! He comforts Syl, and things start to seem better for her. Together, Syl and Denner head off to explore Faskeria.

Why do I feel as though I've stumbled across Denner's secret self-insert fan fic?

Never mind...

Quote:
Raleris, the Lorekeeper finds himself in command of a very strange army comprised of Slivers, Sheep Mongers, Efreets, and even Vampires.

Sheep monger.

Thank you, and good night!

No reason to discriminate... I'm sure Mari feels out of place already.

This is a misconception that came from ancient myths about the sables that, for whatever reason, people just can't let go of. It all started from bored stableboys who, in between bouts of cleaning out the animal droppings, became embittered with all manner of animal, and started spreading their metaphorical S*** while spreading their literal S***. Therefore, they made up stories about talking animals, most of whom were jerks, and none more than the poor, innocent sable. And now we're stuck with that stereotype!

In other words...

Anyway, my turn!

Quote:
The Magician Nasperge is bored, and decides to give an Aubedore reading to a Bow and Faerie.

Nasperge draws the Arrow (inverted), the Fish, and the Ring, and declares his reading confusing.

I love that he's giving a reading to a bow, and he draws an arrow. The Generator knows, people. The generator knows.

Quote:
Raiker Venn parties out on Valjan.

Oh, boy. That's going to be a wild party.

Quote:
In the dark of the night, The Duchess is woken by a Skeleton! The Skeleton explains that she has been chosen to become the last defender of Valjan and using the magic of The Nocturne Wheel, she can become the hero known as Magical Girl The Duchess! But there's no time to learn the ropes as the Eightfold Lotus is raising an entire army of Werewolf Soldiers!

:takei:

Quote:
The multiverse has it out for Morgan, as The Shifter catches up to him. Poor Morgan now is left suffering on one of the thousand refractions of Rabiah.

~cringe~

Quote:
Raiker Venn attempts to explain where to find Ellia the Endbringer to Clade, but that **** realizes Clade couldn't care less!

Raiker: "Damn. So much for my new poem 'Trolling the Seas of Oblivion.'"

Quote:
Clade begins traveling with The Duchess. Can they stick together despite their differences?

Raiker: "Oh! Nevermind! Bully."

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred chases Aloise Hartley to The Living Wood. Upon landing on The Living Wood, she apparently interrupts a romantic meeting between Raiker Venn and Vasilias, Lord of Ariva but is secretly being manipulated by the other 'Walker.

Which other 'walker? There are three other 'walkers in that story! The Generator knows, but won't tell...

Quote:
Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands has grown suspicious of Mari Gwynn and follows the other 'walker to the ancient plane of Equilor, the continent Laghwen, and Mirrodin. Then things get complicated as she is attacked by Raleris, the Lorekeeper, Denner Fabellian, Raef, and a Mutant Graveborn Wombat Samurai.

Okay... Well, this story just has to get written. Somebody make this happen.

The multiverse has it out for Daneera, as an Young Barbarian attacks her. Poor Daneera now is left suffering on Tarkir. She planeswalks to The Wheel seeking the help she needs.

Daneera makes bad decisions...

Quote:
While quietly pondering the meaning of life, Lourima Viiran was attacked by a Snow Salamander. Now, Lourima suffers from severe burns and desperately turns to Asher for help.

Oh, this is just too perfect.

Quote:
Larasa Farleth attempts to explain the meaning of life, the multiverse, and everything to the Eightfold Lotus, but is hampered when she gets entangled in a hilarious romantic folly with Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands.

That sounds like a long conversation.

Quote:
Alessa Rehn begins searching for The Eye of Foresight. But things are rarely simple and matters take a serious turn when Nasperge appears too. Now Alessa has a difficult choice to make.

Once again, why would Alessa want that?

Quote:
The paths of fate have converged and Raleris, the Lorekeeper briefly encounters The Shifter because The Shifter is searching for Winter's Heart.

Interesting! Do you think Raleris gave up Maral or not?

Quote:
After an unfortunate incident, Asher is suffering from delirious hallucinations. Now, he has to travel to Aliavelli in search of Aamir in the desperate hope that he can help.

I thought Asher LIKED delirious hallucinations.

Quote:
In the Laughing Artificer tavern on Zent, for a nominal fee, Nasperge gives an Aubedore reading to Raiker Venn in the "Crossroads pattern."

For the corners, he draws the Lovers (inverted), the Thief, the Student (inverted), and the Ring (inverted).

For the spokes, he draws the Jester, the Archmage (inverted), the Dwarf (inverted), and the Path.

At the Crossroads, he lays the Archer vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Anvil, which is horizontal.

Raiker Venn is free to interpret the reading as that **** wishes.

Zent would have a tavern called the Laughing Artificer...

Quote:
Cara Holis finds herself captured by a very strange army comprised of Spike Nomads, Merfolks, Miniature Advisors, and even Gorgon Samurais.

And now Gorgon Samurai are a thing...

So, I think I came up with an amusing prompt, but the reference it would make is potentially awfully obscure, so I am unsure if I should proceed or not.

Upon looking at what the generator has become, I am going to take a step back and just go nooooooooope.

No, just a godawful tangle.
It's sort of passed into the unwieldy at this point.

I remember back when it was just a little thing, full of pluck and promise.

They grow up so fast!

Speaking purely for myself, I kind of like the chaos. It's usually good for either a think or a laugh -- and sometimes both.

The problem isn't the generator itself, it's the damned giant mess that the coding has become.

I think there's a lot of fun options with it, and I look forward to playing around with it again as time permits.

That said, I do sort of wish we hadn't split it into so many exterior lists. I did that for the Aubedore to keep an air of mystery about the cards. I'm not entirely sure I see the point of doing it for the others... (no offense intended to anyone, of course.)

I sit a bit on the opposite end of the spectrum in that all the exterior lists help me subdivide things without it all running together into a massive whatsit.
As it is, when I looked at the coding as it is, it has all these bizarre calls and complex referencing. Call me crazy, but I tend towards the belief simplicity is elegance.

For anyone that was curious on what the prompt I would have added was:
Spoiler
