I was underwhelmed with sales this Cyber Monday.

Only thing I really wanted I missed the sale for.

Except for the fact that I don't live at USA and we don't have that here.

Isn't Cyber Monday an american thing?
And an internet thing?

I certainly did not know. I found one brazilian site with cyber monday. But just one site does not make a real Cyber Monday.

Apparently Cyber Monday is observed in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Brazil, Portugal, Uganda, Germany, UAE ,Egypt, Chile, Colombia and Japan. Well, according to Wikipedia, which usually is 50% right and 50% written by an 8 year old who wanted to hide a joke on the web.

Over here, Thnksgiving evening has become the new "Black Friday " which is pathetic given its origin myth.

...so despite pre-ordering it my Dungeon Masters Guide won't be turning up until next week some time (16th is the current estimate). Sigh.

I've never read a DM guide, what's in those?

At the moment I'm mostly interested in a listing of magical items mostly so I know what can be used in higher-level adventures. Also most magic items from my very limited experience tend to go for the 'named and with a story' variety rather then just being a '+1 sword' which I'm hoping to see continued in the DMG. I kinda like settings with low magical item presence (or indeed just low magic in general).

In addition to magic they tend to include listings for all the things the occur in a game that the players don't need to know about; poisons, diseases, traps that sort of thing.

Hmm, been working on an idea for another Pathfinder character.... but he'd need to start with a decent amount of gold to make it work.... he needs to buy scrolls and services of mages to cast loads of Permanency spells.

Isn't that the case with a lot of things? I do want to play with that sort of thing if I ever get the chance with a character or two. Practicality is not an object!

Dungeon Masters Guide has just been knocked back to the 8th of January. Because apparently you have to localize books now or some other BS. What you got a guy who to read through the thing and put 'U' and 'E' everywhere? Why am I waiting a month on a book I could just illegally download already Wizards?! Why wont you let me give you my money?!
