So my fiance and I caught the first episode of Kamigami No Asobi (Mischief of the Gods?) yesterday and it was actually pretty enjoyable. Who would have thought that Zeus throwing a bunch of male gods into a magical high school with a human girl for reverse-harem hijinks and magical boy transformations would be so entertaining? It seems to have that over-the-top quality that Host Club had.

Has anyone else seen this? I think both Hulu and Crunchyroll have all 12 episodes up, but we haven't looked into it since yesterday.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso isn't too bad.
From what I've seen in the manga, I imagine I'll enjoy watching this.

Elfen Lied is also good. It's dark and has gore, a lot of gore.

Neat concept and gorgeous art brought low by discount Shinji Ikari and the fact that it never finished, and, by my understanding, will never be finished.

This is why I have trouble going out and watching it in a nutshell.

As far as I can tell from what I have heard, it's one of those things where the story stopped in the middle and they didn't do a good job wrapping it up as they could have (or at all apparently).

The manga most certainly finished, though.

Someone told me I should watch Mushi-shi. They were so right.

I really like the 'series of vignettes' format, and the setting was weird and interesting enough to make the whole thing just amazing.

I would recommend Natsume Yuujincho. :( Not sure if I spelled the second word right.

It starts a little slow, but the gets very good. :) The main characters are a high schooler who can see yukai and his pet cat/yukai/bodyguard. :( Warning. The cat is a mean drunk. And very bad at singing.

Edit: Okay to be honest I watch the anime mostly because the cat is entertaining and occasionally they do a good paranormal episode. But without the cat in it I wouldn't be watching it.

:( For purposes of streaming anime on a console, nothing works that well.

Hulu - tied for Crunchyroll for collection size/quality, but about 3 or 4 minutes of commercials per episode

Crunchyroll - no commercials, but app is buggy as **** and it does not save your spot if you have to leave mid show

Netflix - best viewing experience but worst selection
:bang::bang::bang::

So what do you guys use to watch this stuff?

My anime recommendation to anyone who hasn't seen it is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Just season one. If you wanna watch the second season, otherwise known as R2, go for it. But I recommend Code Geass because it is honestly the greatest anime I have ever seen. I've heard a lot of people say the art style turned them off, and it did that to me at first, but it slowly became the factor that hooked me in. The characters are neat, the concept is neat, and the finale is such a cliffhanger that it practically BEGS YOU to watch the second season, but in my opinion, the second season is barely worth a watch.
Go watch this anime, dammit.

Funny. When I re-watch Code Geass, it's usually the last ~5 episodes of R2.

Well, for what it's worth, I think it's the very ending of Code Geass that makes it worth it. The first few episodes were intriguing, the middle and end of season 1 were kind of meh (especially the slice-of-life school episodes), most of season 2 was over-the-top ridiculous and constantly trying to break Lelouche for no apparent reason, but then the ending was so karmically gorgeous that it elevated the series to "recommendable" for me.

I mean, it definitely has its good parts outside of the opening and endings, but for the most part I found it kind of standard.
