With regard to Silvanus being Vaeca's deity, right at the start I mentioned I wasn't sure if it would fit, but went with one I was somewhat familiar with that with nature based. I kind of want Vaeca to be more of a shaman type though, thus mentioning animal spirits etc. More being in tune with nature itself and the spirits of the plants and animals etc. Is there something more like this in Dnd that would fit?

And I realise Sandal didn't see the action, but Vaeca was being attacked and defended himself. Nothing macabre about that. Once the deed was done he realised that if Klarg was the head honcho the goblins might crumble if the group could act intimidating enough. In Vaeca's mind the body is dead, so the spirit is gone, so it's not desecrating it. Though I did (and still will IC I think) want him to recognise Klarg's stature as a warrior, and give him some type of respect for that last action.
But the main thing was using one death to avoid potentially many more. Use the head and hopefully not have to kill however many goblins or other things are waiting down that tunnel.

I am enjoying the friction though and really liking the story and group interplay. Again, well done everyone!

Also I think I mis typed while on phone and tried to end up in the water. But just wanted to be out where the goblins saw Vaeca so that's cool.

Computer time is hit or miss these days. A new one should be on the way soon but this is the islands so definitely on island time... :(

Well, crap. Hopefully nothing comes back up that tunnel, or I may as well be mooning them in the middle of the doorway.

I'm back people! Looks like I need to draw up the rest of the map for the tunnels so that will be my first port of call. Then I'll make an IC post and we can continue! We're so close to the end of this cave I can feel it!

This is just me but I don't see why Silvanus would be a bad choice. Nothing you have done so far would violate one of his tenets. I mean were not talking Mielikki's 'remember to hug all the animals' junk here - the Oak Father is an ancient and often quite vengeful deity. He'd have no problem with you putting a bugbear in the ground. In fact the guy hates orcs and goblinoids so you probably did him a solid.

Not even that worshiping him would stop you being a spirit shaman anyway. He manifests as different animal and plant spirits all the time so you could simply be following one of his various aspects.

Cool thanks just checking. Was kinda sure he fit OK enough, but the vengeful part underlines it nicely I think!

Will have him dropping nature spirit nuggets of wisdom from time to time. Also when he starts wildshaping, well, you'll see!

As for light Vaeca has something in mind once we meets the rest of the cave

OK, thanks. Haus has no intention of messing with the dam, unless something really presents itself. Joab, however, is a little fixated on the idea of making something cool happen.

Quoted Kurt Russel in Iron Skies, and now quoted Mel Gibson here. I'm getting good at this :P

Do you want us to roll passive perception to see if we notice? I assume that Joab the Oblivious has no idea, and doesn't really care.

It does sound like it would call for a Stealth roll.

Even though at the moment the Druid and cleric were conflicted I was imagining some serious incidence down the road where they actually had to help each other out somehow. Shame.

Isn't he leaving a bit extreme? Giving up on the whole rescue mission?

To be fair, I think his sense of self preservation was, perhaps, justified. Argun was ready to shoot him if he got any of the rest of the party hurt or killed.

I just really wish he hadn't borked or chances at stealth first.

Sandal Luz

Using the momentary distraction of his chaotic allies that advanced inside the chamber with the dam, Sandal climbs down the rope and leaves the cave. Never to be seen again. His mission to save Sildar and Grunden failed, but at least before any of his so called allies were able to kill him.

So just to confirm. T_B are you wanting out of the game here? I fully understand if you have other commitments or just aren't having fun here but would it be possible to get some confirmation?

Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

So I've had a word with T_B and he is indeed dropping out of the game. That said feel free to progress onwards into the tunnels. Personally I'm liking your current chain of reasoning - negotiating with the goblins isn't something I would have come up with. The module certainly didn't anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that. It certainly made things different and actually made me think about my character more. Was hoping for things to develop but ah well.

Hey Garren, just edited last IC post to include a roll for religion if that's ok, rather than a new one.

Super sad to see T_B go. His character was a good counterpoint to the rest of the group, and I was looking foward to future interactions between Sandal and Lee. Oh well, gotta live with that.

Hope our party does well without a healer.
