Vaeca doesn't have any spells that would help prepared. Just animal handling. Otherwise he would have gotten them to be friends and sent them in the front entrance!

Great, Island! I was going to mention that you should remove his head. That will make this a lot easier. Now we just go make a cave tour and show Klarg's head to any goblin that we see. That's going to make them **** their imaginary pants.

...I don't know if your implying Klarg was a lycanthrope or if being a Bugbear is some form of commutable disease. Not that either of those scenarios is a bad thing.
