*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play

Facts about Hitler and sex!*
Of the six women Hitler is believed to have slept with, four ended up committing suicide.
One of these was his half-niece.
Hitler didn't marry Eva Braun until just 40 hours before they committed suicide.

The truth resists simplicity

*Or at least marriage.

I've edited the op over in my thread exactly 115 times.

Your fingernails appear to grow after death when it's really your skin receding.
This led support hundreds of years ago to the vampire theory.

Tin Foil can cause a lightning storm in a microwave.

If you take a 2, and a backwards 2, and put them together, it kind of looks like a fish.

The rate at which people go missing, as in flat out disappear, is roughly equivalent to the rate at which herd animals in Africa are killed by large predators.

Hey. Bigfoot is real. In fact, it's not just one thing. It's an entire species we have sightings of occasionally.

Whether or not I believe in Bigfoot has no impact on the joke.

Would love to see the math on this.

You'd have to ask Jim Butcher where he got the math from, however it is ignoring the fact that most of those people are ultimately located.

An adult human contains about 110,000 calories.
A creature of Godzilla's size would require around 215,000,000 calories a day.
If Godzilla sustained himself off of human flesh alone, he would increase the global mortality rate by more than a full percentage point.
I am now picturing a nightmare world ruled by kaiju. It is truly terrifying.

The defibrillator predates CPR.
Squirrels can rotate their back feet 180 degrees to better climb down trees.
Apples were first cultivated in eastern Turkey.
The "fruit of knowledge" in the bible was probably not an apple. Apple was used as a generic term for fruit.
Judas' thirty pieces of silver shouldn't be taken literally either. Thirty silver coins was the standard fare for a returned slave, so "thirty pieces of silver" was most likely a turn of phrase.

There's roughly $4 trillion USD worth of cash in the world.

There's over 6000 miles of road in New York City.

If you spent a single nanosecond on the surface of the sun you would be completely unharmed.
If you spent a single nanosecond in the sun's interior you would die.
Light travels about one foot in a nanosecond.

I feel obliged to point out that Jim Butcher is an author of fantasy. Gritty, urban fantasy, sure, but fantasy nonetheless. So I wouldn't put too much stock in his numbers.

The "light travels about 1 foot per nanosecond" thing is actually really useful if you have to estimate propagation times for radio waves or something. Similarly, a year is about 2^25 seconds (which is handy if you're giving real-world time estimates for, say, password-cracking).

Vials of smallpox bacteria still exist, thanks to an old dispute between the U.S. and Russia/Soviet Union. Recently a previously-unknown one was found in an FDA lab about thirty minutes from where I live. Mild panic ensued!

!

that was a real-world statistic that Jim Butcher quoted.

A smelter sword + 1 takes over 100 hits to kill the old iron king on New Game + 7 difficulty.

The smelter sword is a fire sword. The old iron king is a fire boss.
