Parad, I think we should make a thread for Block Constructed testing and another thread for Sealed/Draft testing. We can use those to set up games, discuss deck tech, and so on.

That sounds like a good idea, but could you start those threads instead of me? I don't know what I would say in the OP.

The Cockatrice plugin is finished and can be downloaded here.

Some changes I want to suggest based on my first impressions:

  • Auspicious Reversal: 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens to 1/1 white Cleric enchantment creature tokens.
  • Illpyre Inquisitor: "Creatures you control gain protection from creatures with the chosen name..." to "Creatures you control gain protection from the chosen name..."
  • Brenem, Light's Shadow: "Each player may cast creature cards from his or her graveyard and from exile," to "Each player may cast creature cards he or she owns from his or her graveyard and from exile."
  • Delve into the Unknown: "You may cast a nonland card... revealed this way," to "You may cast a nonland card... revealed this way without paying its mana cost."
  • Bahraz the Tyrant: to .
  • Young Pyromancer: Change to functional reprint that makes 1/1 red Viashino Scout creature tokens.
  • Spark of Imagination: "converted mana cost 1 or less" to "converted mana cost 2 or less."
  • Soulclash Shaman: "Then each other creature with the same name... etc," to "Then those creatures fight each other."
  • Gruff, Wayward Wanderer: Change the +1 to "Up to one target creature attacks during its controller's next turn if able," and "Sacrifice a basic land. Search your library..." to "Sacrifice a basic land. If you do, search your library..."
  • Natural Rebirth: 1/1 green Saproling creature tokens to 1/1 green Spawn creature tokens.
  • Crushthread Sage: ": Return Crushthread Sage to its owner's hand," to ": Return Crushthread Sage from your graveyard to your hand."
  • Blood Grove Ancient: "...Forest land token..." to "...basic Forest land token..."
  • Graven Giant: "Creature - Golem" to "Creature - Giant Golem."
  • Archmage's Staff: "...X/X Snake creature..." to "...X/X Snake artifact creature..."
  • Cutthroat Automaton: "Artifact Creature - Shapeshifter" to "Artifact Creature - Shapeshifter Assassin."
  • Scavenger's Sack: "...Scavenger's Sack deals 1 damage..." to "...This creature deals 1 damage..."

You have my permission to make all of these changes.

Desperate Prayer
Instant
You gain life equal to the life you lost this turn. If you gained 5 or more life this way, put a 1/1 white Cleric enchantment creature onto the battlefield for each life you gained.

I believe Unwoven Spellstuff needs to tweak the text.

" {T}: For as long as it remains tapped, Unwoven Spellstuff becomes a copy of target enchantment, except it has "You may choose not to untap this enchantment during your untap step." "

This means that the moment it copied another enchantment, it wouldn't care if it is tapped because it will lose its original copy ability.

Compare to Renegade Doppelganger, another card that becomes a copy of something else for a limited duration.

If you don't mind, I'll make the neo-Young Pyromancer a Viashino Shaman named "Giltfang Matriarch." I think it makes more sense that way. I'll implement the rest of the changes as you wish.

Wait, why did we change Young Pyromancer? Are we against reprinting WOTC cards? I didn't see any flavour disconnect.

Alright, I managed to put together a decent RG deck based around creatures entering the battlefield either en masse or repeatedly. It just lacks in the endgame department. There just aren't any big creatures. Lurking Frostjaw can work, but without trample it's hard to finish anybody off.

Working on getting Tarmogoyf to work. It requires support from Mind Shivers and Delve Into The Unknown, but it can work. Brains and Bodies helps too. There are a lot of cards that filter through your library but few actually stock your graveyard. Even fewer cards can stock your opponents graveyard. Chronicler Sphinx and Wanuranti are good endgames threats for the archetpe, but Wanuranti suffers from a lack of ways to mill opponents.

So my forethought was enough to get us thru design, but the disorganized way in which we tried to develop things last time didn't work. Here's what I suggest:

I will identify a hole that needs filling. Then, I will select beforehand a card to replace. The community is encouraged to veto my selection of the problem card if it is belovéd by others, or for whatever reason does not need to be cut. If you do veto, please suggest an alternative card to cut.

Then, the rest of the community will fill the hole. The winner gets to identify the next hole to fill, and again picks a problem card for it to replace. Then, we rather/rinse/repeat. Unlike during design, people will be able to participate in their own rounds. But to keep development from being monopolized by the same few people, the runner-up will set the next round if the person who set the current one wins it.

We'll do a thread as such for each color, just like before.

In addition, I'm going to start a discussion thread called "How can we make aggro more viable in Starstill?" The deck to beat are Chroniclerhaz Control. K_FM's Temur Combo seems pretty awesome too, but that's only because Viashino Suncaller is busted. The white weenie enchantment deck I envisioned is not viable, and in general, the Naya colors need to be brought up to 's standards. I think it would also be good to give Black some more aggressive options, too, so that there's a reason to play it besides Bahraz.

Finally, I will see about getting another subforum for custom-card ICDs. This will work as our Multiverse. It will probably also help things along with NGA Masters and Sagathia.

Does anyone have any suggestions with which to improve on this plan?

I have not played Limited Starstill ever other than some fishbowling with Cockatrice so its hard for me to pinpoint areas of design outside of specific card flaws, but I'll do my best!
