If I went back in time to participate in the worldbuilding, I might suggest using normal snake-people for both Sertaria and Ameran. The original snake people of Magic were actually, honest-to-gods snakes, that looked like snakes. But they only got 2 cards in Portal & Stronghold and nobody seems to remember them except me.
I have to assume you mean among your meatspace friends, because taking your post literally, as you seem to wish me to, would be insulting. Have you even seen Jakkard?
 I apologise that something I said was inappropriate, but I don't understand what it was. If you I thought I implied something insulting, it wasn't anything I intended.

Spoiler

And now I feel like I have to derail this thread to publically defend/explain myself, and then get yelled at for that too.

If nothing else, I imagine it would create one heck of a fire hazard.

@ Arcades:
The very simple fact is that your post came across as extremely egocentric. Barinellos and I both called you out on it.

The answer to my Jakkard question would be "no", then. The answer to your Jakkard question would be "yes". I was not involved in the development of Jakkard, either, but I had assumed by now you would have read some of the two dozen Jakkard stories or read the Style Guide (or Planeswalker's Guide... I can't recall off-hand in which style it was written) and had become aware that, yes, Jakk Rattlers are two-limbed snake people.

Yes, literally just now before I went to make orange rolls.

Take a breath, Luna. She was just making an offhand remark; no harm meant, clearly. I mean I wrote the dang guide and I didn't take it personally at all.

I have no way of explaining what I was trying to say without making you think I'm an even more horrible person, so I'll stop talking.

I think perhaps that we're slightly out-of-tune here. I accept that, in your experience, most people ignore Magic's past snake people because of their obscurity. I simply wanted to call to attention the manner in which you phrased your comment seemed to refer to the M:EM as a whole, which is why I took issue with your original comment.

I likely have also let my perceptions of your recent posts color my perceptions, since you've seemed to act rather dismissive as of late. I would like to apologize for my rudeness, though perhaps not for the act itself. Those times when I forget the maxim, "if you can't say something nice..." then I will write entirely without thinking how I sound from the outside. This happens especially when I don't hold myself back to think on the topic for a few days.

I'm sorry for being and sounding rude, that was not my intent.

I for one never took any offense, though I still stand by my declaration that the most precise appellation for humanoids shouldn't be used. Otherwise we'd have to add Vulshok, Neurok, etc etc in too and it would be really hard to explain why they showed up elsewhere.

Actually, I've been wondering (not to hijack the thread) if the Jakkard Rattlers shouldn't be creaturetyped Naga now. It's all gotten very confusing.

For what its worth, I'd be more in favor of just "[race] folk" being used, but I haven't been paying a huuuge amount of attention to what part of the generator this is being used in, for reasons of Grad School

Alright, let's see...

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred gets a new pet, a Human! But Syl of the Dual-Walkers decides to kill the poor thing!

So far, so normal. Although I can't envision Beryl as a slaver, no matter how much the generator may hate her.

Quote:
Aralheim is under attack! Beryl, the Heart-Scarred must gather allies such as Chardis of the Dual-Walkers before it's too late, but Beryl is hampered when she suffers from a parasitic dark hatchling at the hands of Raef.

Nope. Not yet...

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred has grown suspicious of a Timmerian fiend and follows the other 'walker to Shandrovol. There, they both witness a strange event as In a very special musical episode, Cara Holis becomes infatuated and begins stalking Aloise Hartley... in song!.

Actually, now we're getting worse?

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred crash lands upon the center of the World Tree. There, she suffers from mana backlash at the hands of Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands, Chardis of the Dual-Walkers, and Huinn, Last of the Darkwings

Nope, I take it back. Now we're getting worse. Also, ouch? Painful place to crash land.

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred has accidentally misplaced The Nocturne Wheel on Ihn Gallad. Can she find it again before Maral, Celestial Wright learns it is missing?

Relatively harmless?

Quote:
Raleris, the Lorekeeper joins forces with Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Benign! Ladies and gentlemen, we have achieved benign!

Quote:
Syl of the Dual-Walkers begins traveling with Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Bye-bye, benign.

Quote:
The unthinkable has occurred on the Burning Islands, which has caused a phenomenon known as a Mutual Epiphany. Beryl, the Heart-Scarred is trapped there, but she isn't the only one caught in the cataclysm. Now Beryl joins forces with a Timmerian fiend and Syl of the Dual-Walkers.

I miss benign already...

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred ventures into Aliavelli.

Hrm... I feel like there's a story there.

Quote:
Kahr-ret-Taris attempts to apprehend and bring to justice Beryl, the Heart-Scarred and Mari Gwynn.

Man, what could they have done?

Quote:
Raiker Venn has decided to write a new poem about Beryl, the Heart-Scarred. Poor Beryl.

I swear, this one comes up every time. Over my dead body, Raiker Venn. Over my dead body.

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred hides out on Theros. There, she comes into conflict with Ellia the Endbringer, The Shifter, and Clade.

Sigh. Of course she does.

Quote:
The paths of fate have converged and Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands seeks revenge upon Ellia the Endbringer because of the machinations of Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Obviously, among those three, Beryl is the one most likely to machinate.

Quote:
While searching for The Inferno Amulet, Ellia the Endbringer was attacked by a Homarid. Now, Ellia has decided to take it out on Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Who else would she take it out on? Duh.

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred blindly jumps to The Living Wood. There, she comes into conflict with Syl of the Dual-Walkers, The Shifter, and Phyrexia. All of it.

I guess Beryl should stay away from tree-themed places...

Quote:
Denner Fabellian attempts to explain where he last saw Beryl, the Heart-Scarred to Vasilias, Lord of Ariva, but he realizes Vasilias couldn't care less!

Denner: "She ranks in the bottom decile of human women in terms of facial symmetry."
Vasilias: "Then I don't care."

Quote:
A Timmerian fiend takes the artifact known as An Æther Vent from Beryl, the Heart-Scarred, Raiker Venn, and Larasa Farleth.

Beryl joined a strange gang...

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred arrives unexpectedly on Jund. There, she suffers from moonglove poisoning at the hands of The Duchess, Vasilias, Lord of Ariva, and Clade.

Talk about getting ganged-up on.

Quote:
The Shifter begins traveling with Beryl, the Heart-Scarred. Together, they suffers from an ancient curse at the hands of Raiker Venn.

It would be like Raiker to curse people with bad grammar.

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred wanders drunkenly into the ancient plane of Equilor. There, she comes into conflict with Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands, Chardis of the Dual-Walkers, and Clade.

Who else would drunken Beryl meet?

Quote:
Gruff interrupts a romantic meeting between Huinn, Last of the Darkwings and Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Yup. That's our generator.

Quote:
The multiverse has it out for Beryl, as the Shifter and Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands catches up to Beryl, the Heart-Scarred. Poor Beryl now has to get Alessa Rehn's help.

Poor Beryl indeed.

Quote:
Beryl, the Heart-Scarred blindly jumps to Ikass. There, she comes into conflict with The Duchess, The Shifter, and Huinn, Last of the Darkwings.

Apparently, Beryl should never blindly jump anywhere.

Quote:
Things have gone poorly, and it seems to be Daneera's darkest hour. But then, suddenly and out of nowhere, Beryl, the Heart-Scarred arrives! She comforts Daneera, and things start to seem better for her. Together, Daneera and Beryl head off to explore the wasteland plane of Gastal.

Don't know if this is the one, but I'll take it!

*closes browser window, walks away*

@Orcish: That was a funny, if unfortunate, bit. That last prompt was not Barinellos's addition, because it was one I wrote. Also, one time while testing that prompt, I got Beryl being comforted by Aloise, which was really cute.

Sounds like a story!

I don't think "A Bet on Kindness" is the best story I've written, but it will always be one of my favorites. There's something very reassuring about it.

I appreciate the offer. But, as Beryl herself said, this is something I have to do for myself.
