This reminds me of a George Carlin skit. Haha.

What part of South Korea were you in? And what brought ya there? I spent a little time near Gunsan City a few years back, I'm' working on learning Korean as a hobby(in addition to what I learned while there) and would like to go back some day and do more exploring.

Been all over it to be honest. Technically even crossed a border into North Korea for a moment, but the guns and ROC soldiers were a little.... less then inviting. I spent a good bit of tine in Seoul, though that was for a conference. Spent a bit more time just traveling from city to city, and eventually met up with some incredibly distant family (technically) for a few days. Hey, my name is "squinty_eyes" for a reason!

Haha, nice. I didn't jump to that conclusioin by default :P

I was mostly in the south west, but I did wander up to Seoul a time or two, and explore around. I really want to go back and have more freedom to just explore, get off the beaten path... and put mah broken korean skillz to better use.

I've been to most of the states (I'm from NY/NJ originally) so I'm not going to list those. For foreign I've been to Canada (like everybody else), England, Italy, Croatia, Hong Kong, and Macau. I don't think I'm missing anything.

edit: Going to Hong Kong again for Thanksgiving with one of my college friends.

I would like to go to Monaco, somewhere in Japan, and go back to Rome.

I speak very little to no Korean, but my sister does, so she was kinda my guide. On the plus side, I understood their money system, so buying things wasn't much of a problem. And most of the food in the city is depicted on the walls of each restaurant, so that wasn't much of a problem either. Though, I did have a horrible experience buying filled buns. The stickers all looked the same and had no images on them in the bakery, so I just grabbed a bunch and brought them back to the hotel. They were all from the same bin, so they had to be the same, right? Well, the first one was filled with pulled meat and barbecue sauce. The second had cinnamon and sugar inside. The third had red bean jelly, and to be honest, I wasn't feeling like biting into a fourth. Accursed language barriers....

Haha yeah, a few mispeaks have resulted in me not getting the right food before. Or simply not knowing enough of the language to correct them, so I just shut up and take what I get ...heh.

The money was pretty simple when I was there becuase 1000 wan was about $0.91. So you just multiplied by a thousand and figured the small difference. Something 10K wan was gonna be like 9 bucks...etc.

All my traveling was as a kid. For all the places I've been, I have an enormous lack of culture.

In such a global world, I think everyone is surprisingly lacking culture (myself very included).

I've only left the east coast a handful of times but I've traveled all up and down it. Vacationed in Cancun and it was pretty cool except my grandma died while we were there (not with us).

I did a study abroad internship in Ireland and it was a complete blast. Spent 3 months living and working in Dublin and it was very cool. I love that city, everyone is as cynical as I am and there's a pub with its own variation of Guinness every other building.

I live in Quebec.

I've been to:

a few places in the US (New York, Maine, South Carolina, Florida, California)
a few places in Mexico.
Australia (Sydney, Brisbane and in the north-eastern part to visit the great barrier reefs and ****)
India (Bangalore, New Delhi, Goa, Kerala), where I met my now wife.

I wish to go:

Europe, not sure where yet. France for a start I guess, but I also really want to see Istanbul for some reason.
Back to India. More for my wife than myself, she gets home sick and I really wish I could bring her back to see her family and friends, but we're a bit short on money right now.
