I have a doubt about the potent spellcasting cleric feature.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

I am Ok with it the way it is, but I think the correct form should be spell instead of cantrip since there is only one cleric cantrip that deals damage. It simply doesn't have the right flavor for a potent spellcasting. Also theoretically you could cause damage with a spell that otherwise didn't cause damage, like light. That doesn't feel right.

I think the correct form should be:

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric spell that causes damage.

Opinions?

Edit:

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric spell that has a single target.

I don't play 5E, so I don't know what spells Clerics have. However, on the matter of killing stuff with light, it says that it adds your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal. If the spell doesn't already deal damage, then it has nothing to add the damage to.

You are right, wrong interpretation by me. Not being an english speaking native does that sometimes. The question remains, only the importance is reduced I believe.

There will probably be more cleric cantrips that deal damage in the future, but you can always ask your DM to change it. It may be that the Light Domain's level 6 feature is weaker to balance out stronger domain features at other levels.

It crossed my mind the possibility of other cantrips in the future. The flavor still feels wrong. A potent spellcasting should affect all spells, not only cantrips. 5 damage more at most would not make the other spells broken. At higher levels cantrips become more powerful than 1 level spells due to this feature.
And, otherwise, the name should be Potent Cantripping, instead of Potent Spellcasting, or something similar.

This feature affects other domains also.

Oh, yes, the Knowledge Domain also gets this feature.
