Can you play a Borderpost on the first turn by returning the basic land you tapped to pay the :1:?

I'm not sure what to pick, so I'll take the creature.

I guess it depends on how important the ultimatum is. I think it might be important, so I would pick Borderpost. We have a fair amount to do on turn 2 anyway.

I forgot we could ramp with borderpost. I was just thinking of it as the dual land form. I still think Pouncer is better but it's a lot closer than I was giving it credit for.
