So, does the warlock get Ray of Sickness or not? The quick rules say yes, the warlock spell list says no.

While for the most part it would depend on the DM I would say that the Player Handbook trumps the quick-play rules; no Ray of Sickness for Warlocks. I don't really have any evidence to support this but it seems the most logical course of action - same way Beta rules are outweighed by finished product.

Well, it's in the PHB under quick rules. But then it isn't on the warlock list.

Oh right. Yeah I see what you mean now. I was thinking of the quick rules for some reason (the ones released before PHB). That is quite interesting. In that case I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I'd probably allow it what with the quick build being aimed at, well, quick building and just wait on a errata (because of course there is going to be an errata). Be interesting to see which way they take this though.

Yeah, I don't know. It seems like just the sort of spell they would get flavor-wise. I'm probably gonna house rule it but I'd like to know officially how they rule it.

Awesome question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find something... headed out the door to work at the moment though.

According to Jeremy Crawford, Codesigner and Managing Editor of Dungeons & Dragons:

" Yeah, ray of sickness shouldn't be there. Charm person is a good substitute."

He answered the question on Twitter as seen HERE

Don't they already get Charm Person?

The typo being in the Quick Build options.

He's saying they don't get the spell as per the spell lists in the back of the book. The text of the quick build should read something like 'Charm Person' instead of 'Ray of Sickness'.

Why a warlock doesnt get a spell called Ray of Sickness ... that I dont know.

Oooh. I see. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense at all why they wouldn't get Ray of Sickness. Flavorwise, it makes a lot of sense. They're probably still gonna get it in my game.

Thats what most DMs appear to be saying, they just let the warlocks have it and dont worry about the typo.
