essentially. anita sarkeesian is the woman who does like a series of video essays on sexism in video games, funded by kickstarter. she used to do shorter video essays before that on media in general? i remember seeing one about straw feminists in media, but i think she now focuses on video games.

anyway, in this article, anita sarkeesian was slated to receive some sort of award or recognition from some gaming thing and someone sent in a bomb threat.

I mean, I'm all for jiggle physics if they help sell a game, but there's obviously stuff in video games at times that is blatantly sexist. It's called 'fanservice.' Women are objectified, men are objectified.
There's obviously a double standard, where we can point out that the characters in Dead or Alive, with insanely large breasts and impossibly skinny bodies are portrayed, is sexist, but we cannot point out that the insanely muscled bodies of Kratos from God of War or Pantheon from League of Legends (could easily go on, but those two stand out) because 'that isn't the issue at hand.' And that's fine. Let's campaign for stuff we feel strongly about.

But you know what? I don't really care about any of it. I just wanna play fun games. I don't really care about jiggle physicis and whatnot. They aren't really my cup of tea.

What bothers me is that there are some people who care too much. The crazies and whatnot.
