Since I bought the Manual of the Planes last week and it has one of these for demi-planes, I decided to create a tables for randomly rolling a new plane.
====================================== This is designed for 20-sided dice but hopefully I'll find the time this month to convert it and my Random Planeswalking Tables to the online script generator.
Size
Spoiler
1 Size of an island. 2 Size of a small continent (~Australia). 3-7 Size of a large continent. 8-13 Size of a supercontinent or a few continents. 14-17 Earth-sized. 18-20 Bigger than Earth.
Shape
Spoiler
1-8 A planet. 9-10 The inside surface of a hollow sphere or other shape. 11-14 A flat world. 15 A flat world, and both sides are inhabited, possibly with passages in between. 16-17 Globs of land or other solid floating in the air, or on a world ocean, or in a void or a soup of elements. 18 A polyhedron. 19 Several polyhedrons or spheres floating in a larger space, with easy ways for mortals to travel between them. Or multiple linked planes. 20 Helix, Moëbius strip, torus/wheel, or on the back of a cosmic turtle.
1-3 Idyllic or utopian. 4-7 Mostly peaceful. 8-13 Average. 14-17 War-torn, or in the throes of a global revolution. 18-20 Apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, or dystopian.
Government and Diversity of Cultures
Spoiler
1-5 Tons of rather small groups scattered across the world. 6-11 Numerous states, cities, empires, tribes, etc. 12-15 Several major empires, factions, or other powerful groups. 16-17 Much of the world dominated by a few factions. 18 Much of the world ruled by a coalition of factions. 19 One world government, diverse cultures. 20 One world government, relatively homogenized global culture.
Major "Humanoid" Races (sort of combines Characteristic and Mid-Range, because this isn't about card sets)
Spoiler
Diversity of Races
Spoiler
1-3 None except the 5 common races. 4-10 A few other less common races. 11-16 Moderately diverse. Roll twice for each color. 17-20 As diverse as Dominaria or Ravnica. Roll three times for each color.
Main White Race
Spoiler
1-2 Humans 3-4 Fox, Hound or Wolf folk 5 Loxodon 6 Rhox 7-8 Dwarves 9-10 Aven 11 Prax (Batfolk) 12-13 Catfolk or Leonin 14 Centaurs 15 Gargoyles 16-17 Insect folk 18 Kithkin 19-20 Kor
1 Artifice almost entirely unknown. 2 Color affinities mostly arranged in enemy pairs. 3 Color affinities mostly arranged in allied pairs. 4 Time passes slower than in other planes, and people here remember interplanar events that are ancient, forgotten prehistory everywhere else. 5 Highly technological societies of artificers and artifact creatures. 6 Plane shaped by unusually high volume of interplanar traffic. 7 Something about the plane has a unique magical effect on every planeswalker who visits. 8 Spellcasting here is noticeably different from the usual model of drawing mana from lands and casting memorized spells. 9 Some particular type of spellcasting (not an entire color) just doesn’t work on this plane, or always goes awry. Or something terrible has happened to the mana here. 10 Bizarre landscape with floating, sideways, pillar-shaped, or inverted land masses. 11 Ancient planeswalkers hid something here long ago -- to protect it, to imprison it, to cache a coveted artifact, or something else! 12 People with hive minds, racial memories, mass telepathy, past life memories, or weird psionics. 13 World overrun, ruled, or recently invaded by iconic creatures, elementals, interplanar creatures, or Phyrexians. 14 Lots and lots of talking animals. Or walking plants with attitude. Or animated land. 15-19 No weirdness from this table. 20 Roll twice again on this table.

I've edited the Races and Iconics slightly.
Burning Earth, your plane is...
The size of a supercontinents or a few continents. Flat and mostly urbanized. War-torn, or in the throes of a global revolution. Has numerous states, cities, empires, tribes, etc. Is moderately diverse. Besides the minor races, the major races are: Rhox, Aven ... (you didn't roll enough to finish)
Here's my first totally random plane:
Earth-sized. A helix, Moëbius strip, torus/wheel, or on the back of a cosmic turtle. Has highly varied landscapes, and an average feel. Much of the world ruled by a coalition of factions. Major races: Fox, Hound or Wolf folk; Amphin; Ratfolk; Snakefolk; Ouphes Plus a few other less common races. Iconics: Lammasu, Sphinxes, Demons, Dragons, Hydras Has highly technological societies of artificers and artifact creatures.
Here's a second plane:
Size of a supercontinent or a few continents. Globs of land or other solid floating in the air, or on a world ocean, or in a void or a soup of elements. Also bizarre landscape with floating, sideways, pillar-shaped, or inverted land masses. Highly varied landscapes. Mostly peaceful. Numerous states, cities, empires, tribes, etc. As diverse as Dominaria or Ravnica. In addition to various minor races, the major races are: Aven, Kithkin Dwarves Faeries, Turtle folk, Vedalken Catfolk, Surrakar Snake folk Satyrs Humans Plant or Fungus people Iconics: Senmurvs, Elementals, Shadow Things, Elementals, Wurms

This is awesome. I'd love to see the randomgen script for this. It looks very promising.
Incidentally, it's possible to call OTHER generators with randomgen--you just have to provide the url basically. So this could be a separate generator and we could still call it in the main generator.
Supercontinent Flat and mostly urbanized. War-torn, or in the throes of a global revolution. Has numerous states, cities, empires, tribes, etc. Is moderately diverse. Besides the minor races, the major races are: Rhox, Aven, Homarids (ew), Humans,Orcs, Satyrs, Leonin, Snake Folk, Ouphes
Iconics Archons, elementals
Wow still not enough. I'll finish it this afternoon
Burning_Earth rolled 10d20 and got a total of 103:
Okay, so I have no idea if this would be useful to you, but using the engine of the random plot generator, I have put together a simple plane name generator. All it does is combine (mostly) two-letter combinations into single-word plane names. Many of them are ridiculous. Others work. Here is the generator: http://orteil.dashnet.org/randomgen/?gen=PanTED3h
And here are some of the more plausible names I've seen come up:
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Kadorius.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Opaloy.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Keyn.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Siynon.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Ittevi.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Talyen.
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Okjatrex.

I'm working on one that incorporates all of your table, Arcades. I'm still working the bugs out, and I haven't put creatures in yet, but here's an example (with a silly name...)
Quote:
Welcome to the plane of Brdhvoafsmuf. It is a large plane that is a flat world, and its land is mostly pastoral. It is a fairly average place, with a single world government ruling over several diverse cultures. Here, there are animated lands. Enjoy your stay!
Welcome to the plane of Hairpo. It is a tiny plane that is the inside surface of a hollow sphere, and its land is mostly pastoral. It is a mostly peaceful place, with many small groups scattered across the world. Here, the people have past life memories. Enjoy your stay!

This plane name sounds dirty...

I'll be honest, I have NO idea how to pronounce this plane...

I have updated my original link to the name creator to include most of Arcades's tables. I haven't put in the race tables yet, though, and it might be a while before I can. Still, enjoy!
Now that this poll is officially over, it's time to congratulate Aaarrrgh for designing Hill, which has been decided by popular vote to be the Card of the Month for October 2013!
Rather then roll randomly, I'll take one of my planes (at two points in its timeline) and see where they fit.
Arcnia/The Fractured Lands (TFL)
