I know, right? Life is full of little disappointments. :(

I can't see anything wrong with the idea of an artifact creature, if you decide you want to do one.

I started season two of Mystery, Inc., and I am just absolutely blown away by the, for lack of a better word, balls that it is showing, especially in the opening couple of episodes. From the lack of an opening sequence, to the further hints of lesbianism between Velma and Marcy, to the Crybaby Clown arc skipping an episode before continuing the story, to the opaque comic book references, it's just continually showing off. I mean, obviously this show was meant for an older audience, but in a much more visible way than, say, Adventure Time is, and it surprises me most at this point that Cartoon Network let them get away with it in the first place (even if it did have its ups and downs).

I would also like to note that I'm glad Cassidy Williams shaved her hair so I don't have to keep mentally refer to her as "Foxy Cleopatra".

@ OL: unlike the other games you've talked about before, A City Sleeps seems to play right to my interests as far as genre goes (I don't really do fps or rhythm games [mostly because I suck at both]), though I'm quietly hopeful you will release it for more than just Steam.

*pumps fist*

See? I knew that, if we just kept making as many games as we could, as fast as we could, then eventually we'd hit on one of them. :)

Hey sorry I haven't been on much folks, I've been busy getting settled and dealing with Emotional Stuff and my roommate just arrived and spent like three hours telling me about her dying sister and yeah basically things are kind of Heavy here right now so I might be a little bit scarce for a couple more days @_@

I keep trying to formulate a response to Complications and I think I'm going to either have to give up and not comment or accept that my response is basically just going to be hyper-personal reader response confessional **** because it's like too emotionally charged right now and resonant with recent life experience for me to assess it dispassionately you know?

And I have Raven's story and Szat's thing that's up for vote that I haven't read but which looks really good and... yeah, sorry I'm so behind, everyone. That's basically where I'm at right now.

Take as long as you need, and don't worry about it. If you want to read and review, it might be interesting to see the kind of response things get (I've even got an audience participation thing going, if you're interested). If not, rest and recharge as long as you feel you need to. The M:EM's not going to vanish into the Aether, thanks in large part to your tireless work (along with everyone else who's an archivist) on the matter.

Yeah I'm irritated that I havent felt up to catching up on the participation thing you've got going since that seems like a lot of fun and good new territory for us to break!

It's cool that we've got this solid narrative base now that can support more experimental fiction (the microfic; interactive stuff) and weirder characters (Ygraine, I/Ei/Aye, Pendulum...)

@ Keeper - I hope you feel much better, and very soon. Please know that I'll be thinking about you.

If "Complications" contributed to your feel-bads, then I'm really, really sorry about that.

I am prepared to entertain the possibility of forgiving you, provided you meet several demands, each more important than each other. :wha:

To start, a memorial plaque will be carved and bejeweled in my honor...

Oh, wait, that was someone else...

Anyway, yeah, Keeper, the M:EM is a source of unmitigated joy, not indomitable stress, so take whatever time you need! Our awesome stuff will still be awesome when you're ready to read it (or write it, we'll be contentedly patient for that, too!). We're here when you need us!

Hey, don't let it get you down man. In some wise words a friend of mine said recently, don't forget this is supposed to be recreational fun!

Hope you feel better soon, Keeper. And I apologize for bothering you as often as I do.

Is anyone around here following Anita Sarkeesian... Sarkeesa-... Sarkhee-... The girl who's doing the Tropes Vs. Women in Games thing?

If I follow it too much more closely I'll end up snapping and burning all of gaming culture to the ground so I've been trying not to get too involved, despite it kind of being in my wheelhouse.

I've gone ahead and made a thread in the Archives to Index the works by Author, Character and Plane, providing direct links. You can find it here.

If we could get the mysterious FBI agent who occasionally hangs out around her to sticky that thread, that would be really cool!

Let me know here if there's anything you need me to change!

Alt-personality EDIT: It seems this account does not have the ability to sticky within the Archives subforum, only in the Voting subforum.

Hrmm... I can't seem to sticky that thread. Not sure why. I'll have to do some investigating.

But, hey, that's my job!

Okay, Welder worked his magic, and things appear to be functioning more as expected.

Thread = sticky!

My pleasure. I can't stand it when a fish sneaks into the percolator like that.

It is hard to get that taste out of your mouth.

You have no idea. I still taste that fish-filtered coffee in my dark moments.
