WII U is only a million users ahead of XBOX ONE after it's head start?

:( Again. The problem with the WII U is that the freaking selection of games isn't wide enough for people who buy a lot of them.

WII U also has some dlc policies people don't like it seems so.....

Nintendo is only for nostalgia, buf the nostalgia is better than most new games so it doesn't matter. I will love them till the day I die no matter what they do.

The issue is that the way they are going they are going to run themselves into the ground. It would be like valve releasing a new system every 8 years where the majority of good games on it all belonged to valve. People would buy it just to play valve games....... but the system itself wouldn't be that good.

That's effectively what Nintendo has been doing since the gamecube. The gamecube was great. It had tons of 3rd party support and tons of good games and was just an awesome systme. But the WII? It dropped the ball so bad that people are wary of getting a WII U. And they are being proven right unfortunately :(.

Sexism stuff: I don't think we need to discuss whether or not sexism exists in a dialogue about games any more than we need to discuss whether gravity exists in a scientific journal.

I clicked on the link about Mary Beard. She didn't actually have a beard. I was confused.

Using Hamas instead of Hitler does not get around Godwin's law.

Quote:
And selling or not shouldn't be a factor in wanting variety and diversity in a medium anyway.

But it is. But you do make a good point that it might not actually tank sales. Honestly, I think you could probably make a lot of money by releasing an feminist video game, then riding the waves of hate-fueled publicity.

CKY: you know you can be a sexism denier and STILL read the column. They can't IP ban everyone who thinks video games are a bastion of equality. You'll just probably be really angry or confused when you read the articles.

Also Sarkeesian's videos are actually really amazing and well thought out you guys should go watch them.

she made a video in which she said the lego skeleton (which is literally a skeleton) was a "male-identified character" so I do not believe that to be the case dear friend

Well this was right after Lego had come up with a female-targeted product line that used distinctly different figures.

that doesn't change the fact that a skeleton is neither male or female

I don't recall the specifics of the video well enough to know exactly what you're referring to.

it was about some lego controversy and she counted all the "male" and "female" lego people and counted the skeleton as male

Oh I thought that by "skeleton" you meant the lego figurines in general, because they are kinda like skeletons because they're made out of hard interlocking pieces. Thanks for the clarification.

Anita is directly related to video game general news as she is a prominent figure who makes content about sexism in video games and the video game industry
