I seriously can't see fetches here. They'd serve no purpose in standard but making the game slow, they're not appealung to newbies. All you'd do is give more fetches into Modern which already has near perfect fetch mana and so gain little from a fetch reprint.

He also just tweeted that it's a "game changer". Full art lands or reprints wouldn't change the game.

Reducing the price of Zendikar fetchlands by reprinting them, and thus allowing more players to be able to afford to get into Modern (Wizard's flagship Eternal format) is what you gain. Doing so also increases sales of the product they are reprinted in, and gets more people into Standard.

I heard an interesting theory that the "Magic Origins" trademark we saw will be the name of the last core set, instead of Magic 2016.

so it either does something cast for 0, or it's an effect so gamebreaking that with X=1 would be good as a 6 drop. I am thinking of cool and very strong effects but I somehow fear it will just be something boring like make massive tokens :(

I suspect it's some kind of board wipe.

Give all opposing creatures -x/-x ... Like a variable plague wind, that might see play. I mean, unless someone plays something with 4 toughness.

Or possibly some variant on Debt to the Deathless draining X life from all creatures and opponents?

It really can't target X things, it's too expensive... I guess it could be a permanent for black devotion?

Cruel Ultimatum for X? Target opponent Sacrifices X creatures, loses X life, discards X cards, you put X creatures from graveyard to hand, gain X life, draw X cards.

I can't imagine that any card costed like that making a splash in standard without some cost reduction mechanism. I think it's gotta be something along the lines of Entreat the Angels - some means must be present to make the card castable for less than its usual cost.

Yeah, keep in mind that X=1 costs six mana, and every extra point into X will cost you another . There has to be some sort of cost reduction for an effect at that cost to be playable.

I wonder if a scalable Murder with delve would be good enough. Pay , exile your whole graveyard, wipe your opponent's board. That's assuming delve is even in the set, but I could see it as the Sultai mechanic.

Maybe it's an enchantment that exiles up to x creatures from the battlefield and resurrects x creatures from any graveyard for as long as it stays on the battlefield. That might be playable without cost reduction.

I have a strong suspicion that it's a Morph card whose unmorph cost is much lower (say, ). X=1 costs more overall, but you get save mana for high values of X and can do it in installments if you like (but then the morph can get killed).

If it were blue, I'd guess that it's a morph creature with Flash, so morphing saves you mana but doesn't let you cast it in response to something (of course you can unmorph it whenever, but you have to make the first payment of :3: at sorcery speed).

Reanimate X target creatures.
Destroy all but X target creatures.
Search others players' libraries for up to X cards and cast them without paying their mana costs. Shuffle all libraries you searched through this way.
