Ugh. I think that deck is bad. Maybe go GW splash red for heat Ray and bolt? Your white cards are really good.

I would run the Moss-Beast over Miner's Bane. Bane get's trample, but usually only once, he'll die the turn you attack with him. Beast has a bugger butt and it only grows bigger. Even w/o trample he'll have to be chump blocked and will wear your opponent down eventually.

A good point there.

I'd cut the verdant haven for crowds favor. I think your best bet would be to be aggressive with this deck, and crowds favor is a solid combat trick when aggressive.

But I agree with Zenbitz in that I would have gone green white and splashed red for the heat rays. Keep the haven then, and with two wayfinders then it should have worked out. And your white is much stronger than red if you don't consider heat ray.

So I played my first M15 draft and my first games of paper magic today and I loved it. It helped that I got a pretty good deck. I finished 2-1 overall winning 2 extra packs with a chance to go 3-0. Match 1 went 2-1 as did match 2. Game 1 of match 3 I had to mull again to 4 which meant I lost quickly. My opponent was running a mono blue deck with cards I didn't expect to see like Wall of Frost. Mid game 2- I used a Flest to Dust on said wall instead of an Amphin Pathmage which was crucial later in the game. I thought this was correct initially as my board presence meant I could win the race long term. However my opponent drew an Aetherspouts wiping my board next turn. I hadn't used any life loss spells from my deck and he simply won the race after that. He was a regular player and he played well so can't complain. More annoyed with game 1 having to mull to 4.

Anyways the deck!

12 x Swamp
5 x Mountain

1 x Forge Devil
1 x Ulcerate
-----------------
2 x Sign in Blood
1 x Torch Fiend
1 x Black Cat
1 x Child of Night
-----------------
2 x Witch's Familiar
2 x Carrion Crow
1 x Goblin Rabblemaster
1 x Rummaging Goblin
1 x Necrogen Scudder
-----------------
1 x Paragon of Open Graves
1 x Accursed Spirit
1 x Haunted Plate Mail
-----------------
1 x Nightfire Giant
1 x Rotfeaster Maggot
3 x Flesh to Dust
------------------
1 x Covenant of Blood

Remaining cards were...

1 x Rotfeaster Maggot
1 x Crowd's Favor
1 x Meteorite
1 x Unmake the Graves
1 x Zof Shade
2 x Festergloom
1 x Necrobite
1 x Mind Rot
3 x Crippling Blight
1 x Staff of the Death Magus
1 x Fugitive Wizard
1 x Feral Incarnation
1 x Ornithopter
1 x Brood Keeper
1 x Hammerhand
1 x Shadowcloak Vampire

Obviously there is a lot of life loss I'm doing to myself but I think overall the deck was strong. I swapped out the Rummaging Goblin for the 2nd game in most cases with Rotfeaster Maggot which was great. I felt clunky at the top end but just felt it was worth it for the removal.

Anyways, unfortunately the store is "working on" on a credit system which may happen next week and there was no way for me to save packs so I could only open them. I got a Yavimaya Coast and a Kalonian Twingrove in each one which have some value. More importantly I got to play magic and win some games under my belt!

Feel free to comment on my deck build. I'd welcome any feedback.

Some nice bombs in that deck, although the low end is pretty weak. I might have gone 11/6 or even 10/7. You kinda want a mountain by turn 3 for forge devil or rabblemaster.

I could see cutting a flesh to dust for a cheaper removal spell, but maybe this is just for side boarding.
