I like fleshbag marauder the best but every color in Alara has access to tokens so I'm not sure we'll get anything good with it. Dragon Fodder is the most playable card in the pack. The Ultimatum is obviously the most powerful but I'm not sure it makes the deck do to it's ultra restrictive cost.

There are quite a few sweepers in Alara block and Marauder gains strength after one's been played it also keeps our options open for the other two colors were gonna end up drafting like was said before.

Cruel Ultimatum says I win if I resolve this, so it has to be the pick.

That is a mighty big "if". I guess if you are OK with resolving it on turn 14... Or just a 1 in 15 games "Yahtzee".

I don't think you fully realize how durdly full block Alara is. This is a format that punishes you for playing under 3 colors.

we're gonna be in three colors anyway, and ultimatum is a bomb.

Cruel Ultimatum may not be the best pick, but it certainly is the coolest pick.

Agony Warp is the best card in the pack, and also happens to be in our colors!

Hrm. I'm gonna agree with cky here and grab the warp, but I could see Z's point. I just think the warp could be a 2-for-1 and the panoramas are everywhere.

Agony Warp, one of the best 2-for-1s in our colors.

Warp, though I'm not convinced our colors are fixed -- we could still ditch the spell we aren't going to have the precise mana to cast until turn 20 and go esper if something good comes along (hey, in this context I can actually use the shard names because, ya know, the shards are here!)

We can't prioritize fixing over such good removal this early; Agony Warp.

there's plenty of fixing, take the warp. we should start grabbing mana soon though.

There are five different panoramas. The grixis one is best but two others also get two of our three colors. They're all common so we'll probably get two by the end of the draft anyways, unless people grab them early in which case we'll hopefully have the stronger deck.

Y'all are probably right but my thinking is that if grixis panorama doesn't wheel we wasted a pick. On the other side, if it does wheel we have good reason to commit to R over W.
