"I'm from Johto, though." quipped Kuro. "You were on the ship, too, weren't you? Where are you from?"

"How very observant of you - I was indeed a passenger on that ship."Rebecca pauses for a moment before shaking her head slightly. "So neither of you are from Sinnoh originally? A shame. So what is it you are both here for then? I assume you have a goal in coming to this miserable place."

"I just want to meet new Pokémon and learn more about Unown." Silas responds to Rebecca's question.

A man walks into the Pokemon Center.
"The bus to Jubilife City's here, if anyone would like to get there before the fair tomorrow!"


Meanwhile, outside the Police Station, a limo pulls up and the backseat window rolls down, a man popping his head out. "Excuse me, but have you seen two kids around here? One's a girl in red and the other is an older boy wearing blue. They're my little siblings and all."

Silas stares intensely at the Magnemite

Bertrand approaches the group soon after Rebecca. "Always quick in making friends, eh?" He extends his hand in the direction of Kuro and Silas. "Hi kids, I'm Bertrand Mallister, a scientist at Silph Co. and Rebecca's companion through Sinnoh. Who are you and what... Mother of God, an Unown!" Bert gets closer to the unusual Pokémon and starts writing in his notebook. "Fascinating!"

As soon as Bertrand starts to approach M, Silas jumps in between them. "Sorry mister, but I don't let people I don't know get that close to M. There are a lot of people that are mean to Pokemon. How do I don't know that your one of them?" he exclaims angrily.

Though momentarily shocked at Silas's sudden outburst, Kuro quickly gathered herself and nodded knowingly. Quietly approaching Silas, she smothered him in a bear hug from behind.

"It's ok, Silas," soothed Kuro, patting Silas's head over his hood. "don't worry. No one's here to hurt you or M."

Rebecca lets out a soft chuckle as Bertrand interjects himself into the conversation and startles Silas. "You just can't help yourself sometimes can you Bertrand. I'm sure the boy would have let you see his Unown had you simply asked." She smiles again as Kuro hugs Silas before reassuring him. "You should listen to your friend. Excitable as he is sometimes I assure you Betrand means no harm."

"I'm sorry for my rather blunt manners, young friend." Bertrand adjusts his glasses while trying to address Silas' concerns. "It's just that this fine specimen you call your partner got me pretty excited." Bertrand jumps back to Rebecca while still taking notes. "Isn't science a wonderful thing, Rebecca my dear? Have you ever got this close to an Unown?"

Silas, clearly uncomfortable with this close of human interaction, wiggels out of Kuro's arms. "I don't know... he is an adult.. you can't trust adults.. Except for Nurse Joy. She's really nice. Maybe if you have a pokemon I could talk to? To confirm that you nice."

"Do you want to... ask my pokémon? That's fine, I guess." Clearly confused, Bertrand grabs a small black case from one of the many pockets in his coat. Inside, there's room for 6 pokéball, but only one of them is occupied. He picks it and releases his pokémon. "The things we do for science, eh buddy? Kids, meet CLU." The Porygon hovers in circles for a few seconds, trying to acknowledge the surroundings, a severe look in his eyes. After that, he stops by Bert's shoulders, floating, visibly more relaxed to be in a safe environment.

Silas stares at the Pokémon for a good 5 minutes, then grows a shade paler. "It's no use... sometimes I can't speak with them.. and sometimes I can." He sits down. "I don't feel so great...."

"Well, if you want to speak with CLU, I recommend getting a computer." Bertrand loses a good laugh before noticing Silas' condition. "Damn boy, you don't look so well. Rebecca, be an angel and call Nurse Joy, please." He then gets closer to Silas and tries to help him the best he can.

"Certainly. Do try to keep the boy from fainting while I'm away." With that Rebecca gives a short bow and heads over the pokecenter main counter before attempting to flag down Nurse Joy when she looks to have a moment.

"Sometimes I wonder if she thinks I'm the kid..." Turning the attention to the boy, Bertrand puts a hand on his shoulder. "Come on, Silas, talk to me. How did you meet your Unown?"

Kuro, grabbing Bertrand's arm by the wrist, threw him an accusatory look.

"Mr... Bertrand? I don't think now's a good time."

Kamui jumps up excitedly and tugs on Silas' arm. "Come on, let's get to the bus! The fair is awesome! Come on come on come ON!!!" Klaus walks towards the door, being followed by the man with the rock monster who Rebecca previously encountered, whom shot her a glare.
