(N == NP or not is one of the biggest scholarly debates out there today. If you believe N is equal to NP complete, then a very large number of very hard mathematical problems get solved and some important advancements can be made. If you disprove it on the other hand, a bunch of other very important things happen. So..... both sides have their detractors/supporters and it's become a nerd joke to compare it to team jacob and team... whatever the other guy from twilight was.)

I know what the P versus NP problem is the confusion came from it having no prior relevance to the conversation and in not knowing that you people have turned it into a twilight reference. Just as if I started yelling the names of random economics theories I wouldn't expect that they'd make sense without any context.
