Beryl put a hand on Aloise's shoulder and moved to stand between the blonde woman and The Generator. The air around the scarred woman started to shimmer with heat, and the grass beneath her feet began to blacken and smoke.

"Before you can lay a randomly-selected finger on her," Beryl said, "you have to go through me first."



Beryl nodded, and the white-hot glow around her hands began to subside.

"That's what I thought," she said.

Syntax aside, this seems perfectly reasonable. And hey, maybe they can help Lukas find Gabrielle's soulstone.

I have no idea how the two might react to each other, but I can't help but think it might be awkward all around.

Not to me! I loved that show, even if they did only make 6 episodes. And that is one of my favorite quotes from it, too.

Man, one of the most hilarious things about that show is that it didn't even MAKE IT to 6 episodes. It got pulled the second week it aired, which is just hilarious in its own right.

Yeah, they made 6 but only aired 2. I have honestly no idea why ABC even optioned the property. I love that the second episode ever made was a flashback episode...

I love that the entire flashback was a flashback to nothing we'd seen before.

That's being more fair to Beryl than usual. She and Lourima are in rather similar weight classes.

Aloise is also out of her depth.


I've often thought of writing a fork of the generator, which would put clear(er) protagonists and antagonists in separate lists, and hostile/positive interactions. It would still have the unified lists that could call either, but templates could force calls of "opposed" (or "same") alignments. Then this happens and I remember the full random can do that, too.


Sri: "So you're a dual walker? Well you're gonna burn/You're up against Dominia's baddest Pachyderm!"
Sri: Flashes a gang sign with trunk
Syl: "Well little Loxo, I've let you have your fun/But the thing about Dual-Walkers is we're two for one!"
Syl: "Chardis, hit it!"


And yet he misses that Alessa's probably cheating, too.


Aloise is in trouble, there. What did she do to Vasilias?


Beryl and Aloise bring Maral into their plot to take out their frustrations on the generator.

Knowing Ellia, there is a disturbing possibility she has a spare heart somewhere.


I've thought of undertaking that project as well, but ultimately the if/or call would be more complicated than I'd be happy to deal with. Aside from that, it'd end up being such a pain to add in cascading calls like that.

In fairness, Alessa is very, very good at cheating.


She's a good one to have in your corner with frustrations to be had.

That's one of the most convoluted plots I heard. It's like something out of Dickens...or Melrose Place.

I've been considering doing this to several of the locations we have available to us, but it's been partly trying to work out which ones would benefit most from it and what to do with those.


That does tend to preoccupy someone.
