Not to say that replay value is the same as what I'm trying to describe.
For instance, Fire Emblem awakening has a fair bit of replay value, due to the sheer number of intercharacter relationships that you can influence.
However, it does not evoke a groundhog day scenario, because you make no plot-significant choices.
There is an aspect of this in the form of visual novel type games, where pursuing a one of the girls or guys produces a different storyline. However, the scope is rather small.
Minecraft has a nearly unlimited scope, but none of the repitition and causality consequences that a time loop or replaying a game provides.

I suppose what I am looking for is a game epic in scope, complex in interfaction interaction, while also being customizable on the individual level.
Basically, a well run D&D campaign with a computer DM.

Single player games on steam and the hours I have played them:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat - 309 Hours (unmodded)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - only 76 hours recorded but I played a pirated version for way longer before buying it on steam
Fallout New Vegas - 188 hours (some minor UI and bug fix mods, all DLCs)
Deus Ex Human Revolution - 113 hours (without DLC)

the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games (not clear sky eww) are literally the best games I have ever played and I recommend them to everyone

they are super cheap on steam

sadly the company dissolved and no more stalker games :((((

Played Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross both at least 4 times each. The Fallout games (minus Tactics) were interesting playing through with diff character builds.

No, adny, this is an example of a game without replay value.

The joke was "LOL" which is an initialism for the wildly panned MMOBARPG "League of Legends".

Gothic is a cool game that works in the opposite direction, but still grants a similar type of experience - There are many paths, exclusive factions to join, quests etc. to start with, but they all lead up to the same ending. If that sounds appealing and you don't mind graphics that are over a decade old, definitely give it a try (and Gothic 2 if you end up enjoying it).

If you're looking for something newer, The Witcher 2 is a massive RPG with multiple endings, Ko would have a better time describing its merits though.

I actually own both Witchers thanks to the summer sale, but have yet to play either of them. I've heard it has a lot of tits and action. Confirm/Deny?

I will now make it my life's mission to speedrun through the game at the highest possible difficulty in an effort to make you look like a wimpy tool who's bad at video games.
