Planechase II

I found my prey beneath the sun,
Upon the plane that once was one,
Yet now a thousand more exist,
Which lie beyond, between, betwixt,
In burning sands she made her home,
Beneath an alabaster dome,
I found her there, so ill-prepared
To battle those who came and dared
Attack her with such might and main
And so she fled her mirrored plane.

I chased her through the endless Blind
Eternities. She hoped to find,
A haven from my vengeful wrath,
And thus she forged a desperate path,
From Rabiah, its desert sand,
She found another likewise land,
Sertaria, in Gentev rough,
We fought, but she had had enough,
And so she fled, just as before,
As I pursued, to end this war.

And I could sense her growing fear,
Whenever I was growing near,
She knew I’d breach her poor defenses,
And though the aether claimed our senses,
It seemed she screamed through bated breath,
At me, the herald of her death.
She stopped just briefly, and she stalled,
On Vatraquaz, I think it’s called,
But then she flew away once more,
As I just scowled and raged and swore.

I ‘walked again, and found her track,
And to my shock, she ventured back,
To Rabiah, where we’d began,
And where she’d lived but fled and ran,
Again I came to her great house,
And still she fled, a frightened mouse,
She ran on legs across the sands,
And what is that, within her hands?
I tried to look and tried to see,
But once again she flew from me.

It seems my prey prefers the heat,
That’s offered as the sunshine’s treat,
For when we once more touched the ground,
The Fields of Summer spread around,
The sky was kissed by summer’s love,
And gentle clouds would float above,
But then I focused my dark eyes,
Away from those bucolic skies,
And to the one I’d come to slay,
Who shook in fear, and ‘walked away.

And now her favored heat is lost,
And buried underneath the frost,
She knows by now she’s out of time,
No savoir lies on Aralheim,
For here the sun which gives its light,
Is found within the depths of night,
Her terror-ridden eyes can see,
This land is suited more to me,
And with a sad and tired yelp,
She vainly flies to find some help.

We flew into the aether then,
The question isn’t if, but when,
I know she’s growing tired now,
It’s time to take the final bow,
It’s time, but wait, I’m moving back,
Withdrawing from my dark attack!
What game is this? What twisted sport?
And why does time seem to distort?
And what’s she got? I must away!
For now the predator is prey!
