I was tempted to say Living Totem, but we're going to be hitting solid 4 and 5-drops right away anyways. Better to take something in the two-mana range instead, so Child of Night.

Hate the Cone of Flame just because.

Cone of Flame only ruins our early game and its the late game that this deck shines. The worst he can do is near wipe Hornet Queen but if he does he's not even fully 1-for-1ing us since he can't kill all of its tokens.

Child of night

How many flipping Stain the mind are going around, seriously?!

Hate the cone. Living Totem and Child aren't worth it.

Child of Night. We have only the revoker as 2-drop (well, 2 mystic that bypass 2-drops). trading and gaining 2 life looks helpful for this slow deck.

In some cases you'll even rather bounce child with species rather than totem.

btw...everything from now on is a bonus. this already looks very strong.

Child of Night. Gives us a two drop, plus the life gain may be relevant. It isn't a great card for us, but we need to lower our curve so badly that it makes more sense to me than hate drafting here.

Charging Rhino

We have two Mystics. We don't need an early black card to mess up our mana. We just want to accelerate out big things.

why are we seriously considering hating on pick 2? it's one card in one of 7 opponents' decks, it's not gonna make or break us.

we have exactly one two-drop right now. that's not as big a deal as it could be because we have two mystics that can jump us to our deep 3 slot, but still if we don't draw mystic the odds of having a turn two play are miniscule. Rhino is certainly nice but our top end is bloated already. we don't really need more ramp targets, we need some ways to stay alive. and trading with an early attacker while gaining 2 life does that, and if we don't need it to it can always convoke some covenants and wurms. taking child second pick is icky, but it's what we actually need right now.

Child of Night is bad in this format, guys. Pick Cone. We might splash it with our fixing, and it's one of the best cards in the format.

Wurm is a beast. God save the poor soul that gets into the late game against this deck.

Oh man. First we take a bad early pick over a good late one, and now you want a mediocre late pick over a good one drop?

Typhoid Rats

We have a Wurm. We are ramp, not convoke deck, and I really don't want to play the Child. All it does is let the other guy play the Forge Devil.

you realize Rats also dies to Forge Devil, right?

and you don't need to convoke much for a 5/5 trample to be good. if you tap one creature then it's a 5/5 trample for 6 which I can't ever imagine being unhappy about. if you happen to get it quicker then it gets even better, and even on 7 that's not bad.

I'm a really big fan of Hot Soup but I think Siege Wurm is the pick here.

I tried to build it, and I don't see a place for another Siege Wurm - we already have: endless obedience, ancient silverback, hornet queen, siege wurm, Garruk as high drops. and: species, 2xshaman, gravedigger that leave something extra to cast after paying 3-4 for them. I think that's enough for the high end.
I like the rats, and I might see a place for them. might be as side board if we want early defense or replacing revoker against a deck with no activated abilities.
vote: Typhoid Rats.

btw, satyr will be awesome here (species, gravedigger, obedience).
