Both the original thread on the mothership and my files lack the original image that DavFlamerock made for his planeswalker, Lukas Harran. I managed to find it here, on what appears to be DavFlamerock's own website or something, but then a thought occurred to me.

Did DavFlamerock make that art or not?

Does anyone have any recollection as to whether Dav had any proclivity toward art and/or if he ever said where the art for that card came from? I'm leery of using it if we don't have confirmation that it hasn't been stolen.

Wow. I forgot all about that card.

Yeah, I have no idea whether that's his art or not. I... suspect not but I have no idea.

Yeah, I wasn't around when Lukas Harran was created. By the time I had decided to use Lukas, the image link was already broken. I asked Barinellos what Lukas looked like, and he described the picture from memory, which I used as the basis for my descriptions of him. During my brief interaction with DavFlameRock, he didn't mention anything about the image, so I have no idea.

I suspect it's best if we not use the image, unless Dav shows up and lets us know for certain.

Alothough, I will say I'm very pleased with my usage of Lukas after seeing his card.

Yeah, pretty on point I'd say :D

That's definitely nowhere near how I've gotten used to picturing Lukas though.

Probably my fault for including that sombrero scene in The Fallen Pharaoh...

:wha:

I'd rather not use the image either, but I suppose I should add the card description into the dossier?

Yeah, I suppose that is the best thing to do, considering it was part of Dav's original presentation of the character.

Sombreros can never be at fault.

Fact: I keep a big sombrero at work. I call it the Captain Good Times hat. I invented a mythology for it which involved the Battle of Trafalgar. Its wearer has the power to declare Good Times.

(I have made some odd life choices.)

Funfact: That is in fact NOT the first art he used for that card, but the second.
Regardless, neither of them were his art, but something he'd scavenged from elsewhere.

I... cannot remember if there was actually a sombrero scene in that story... >_> I'd normally say nah that'd be silly but this is Raven, master of transforming terrible jokes into compelling narrative so...

Also, what was the original art that he used?

It was rougher, but in color. Different pose too.

I'll note while I didn't call it as such, my mental image that I tried to portray was that Shady Sythis was wearing a sombrero in Louder than Words (Black-Tooth Bart had a more conventional cowboy hat, a stetson)

Well, that settles that.

I already added the card description to the thread, though, so the matter is essentially solved.
