The Arms of the Fallen King: I'm still debating on if I should count this as a double entry or just a paired entry. Regardless, this is what I feel to be the largest contribution this set has to what we're doing and I am distinctly pleased by the fact that I've said so much with so few words.

I would leave it just as it is. As the others have mentioned, it's a wonderful piece. The fact that it's short isn't a demerit in any sense. It's always more impressive to say a lot with a little than to say a lot with a lot, and you certainly managed that here.

I'm also fond of the Glaive (although I guess "fond" seems like an odd word in this context). I like the artifacts which aren't necessarily as inherently powerful, but which acquire their character as a result of their history.

Yep, I'd definitely leave it as-is.

well, what I meant is should I count it as one artifact or two?
Mostly it just comes out to influence how many more I need to do for the FtV series.

In general, I would usually say two separate objects, two entries. However, since the crown seems to mostly be used to enhance scepter, I'd say they're interconnected enough to justify them counting as a single piece. After all, if the two scimitars count as one artifact, this one can, too. And it's not as though the stories of the two can really be separated, so I'd say call it one.

I actually just noticed a feature that I've never noticed before.
The bump feature.
Anyways, sorry for the bump, I was mostly curious to see exactly what it would do, though my post appears to have erased it now.

But in other news, I'll try to get the rest of this series at some point soon.
I'll likely not be doing them in the same quick succession as before, but hopefully I can finally polish off this collection while I take a break from heavier writing.
Something to keep Phostus company, eh?

Huh, is that why Raven's post is showing up for me as the first post?

So, some of you might have caught on that I am not feeling my usual self. I'm going to try to get somewhat back into the swing of things, and I thought that perhaps starting small like this might help.

The Clock Warden's Hammer

Well, the hammer itself was secondary to the rest of it, but it's at least partially intentional in trying to subtly develop things. I imply a lot about the things surrounding the hammer without ever really getting explicitly into what it does, just sort of... what shaped things around it. It's an experiment, I'll admit, but I'm hoping that I say enough about everything else that the Hammer itself gains a sort of mystique about it.

In some ways, it's an extension of what I worked with in doing the Arms of the Fallen King, banking a lot of Vasilias to fill out the personality of the artifacts.

I kind of like the little swerve with this one. How it seems like it's setting up to be about the clock, only to discover that Maral left the clock alone, and took the hammer instead.

Yeah, it sort of goes into a sort of Last Temptation area where the centerpiece is very important to the set up, but it ends up not something that you could walk away with.

I mean, like I said, I feel like the clock carries with it a lot of the focus, but instead, the fact she chooses a memento that was influenced by it rather than anything more direct works. But then again, I can't really be objective.
