My take on the ramp deck, or Fattledriver as Hakeem likes to call it.

Ok, I think I just found the most ridiculous combo in the game. Here's a rough draft of the deck I'm testing with it, but I feel like this combo could work in several different deck color combos.

The combo is Galvanic Juggernaught + Burning Anger. It's a one sided board wipe against anything with 5 or less toughness. I paired it with green for Titanic Growth, then went with a heroic/aggro auras theme. Hunter's Prowess and Visionary help with card draw to get to our combo. I'll test this later this week when I get time.

Haha, Juggernaut + Burning Anger sounds like fun! Kind of a mini In Garruk's Wake. The only problem is going to be untapping it once it has attacked.

I have a feeling we're going to see more enchantment/artifact destruction in the metagame soon.

What about Triumph of Ferocity in Fattledriver?

Not needed, in my opinion. It's better to have a creature that triggers Garruk's Packleader and punches face in its place, like the Nylea's Disciple. The Packleader is your draw engine.

I've run off an impressive series of wins with a Fattledriver inspired build. I have less late game bombs but more burn and draw. I can't remember the exact deck list because I'm in bed right now.. but I'll do my best to recall it from memory. Anger of the Gods is kind of on the chopping block. With all 3 Sparkmages in the deck, 4 shocks, 3 bolt of Keranos and 3 Ground Assault, the token poopers never have a chance to get going in the first place. Anger has sat as a dead card in my hand in numerous matches. I'm thinking of replacing it for more Pelakka Wurms or Wrecking Ogres.

All this deck does is beat ass. F*** Garruk's Packleader. It's not enough card draw IMO. I'd much rather drop Hunter's Prowess on, pretty much anything (even the Elves if I'm holding 3 cards already) and fully reload my hand. I cant tell you how often just the elves, Sparkmages and cheap removal have just about won games on their own. By the time the bombs hit, opponents are typically already in single digit life totals. Deck is 61 cards.. don't shoot me for breaking the unwritten rule.

but seeing as I don't have packleader then its all the more reason for me to be running triumph in its place! Looks like I have my next change planned out.

Agreed far better deck builder and poster than anyone we may have received in his stead.

I also have to agree. He could be a bit offensive at times, and when I first met him on the mothership we bumped heads often, but we were able to reconcile differences and realize we just had 2 different personality types. Ever since then we were cool and his skill in creating and further fine-tuning a deck are 2nd to none in the DotP community.

Speaking of mobius, his suggestion of Jade Mage was better than Elvish Visionary but I think the correct move is to just ignore the early game and use Nylea's Disciple to recoup some of the lost life (much like Saruli Gatekeepers in Neb's Jund build). I was having a few beers last night so it was a perfect night to bust out my Timmy deck, and here is where I ended up:

I have maximum Cultivates and Ingots because I want to skip to five mana on turn four as often as possible. I've gone up to a second Volcanic Geyser because I fried plenty of Baneslayers with it last night; it's a great card here because it gets rid of those big annoying things with the option to go straight to the face, at instant-speed no less.

Nylea's Disciple proved her worth as I topdecked her to gain 14 while I was on just 1 life against a red deck. I couldn't attack with my 2 Arbor Colossoi and 2 Pelakka Wurms into his 4 goblin tokens because he was on 20 life and would have killed me on the backswing with a single token.

I think I'm done testing Fattledriver, this is my list. I'm glad others are enjoying building their own variations on the concept.

You know I'm thinking Visionary is less and less of the card I use to think it was after making a few builds and realizing I would just rather draw into something better than draw a 1/1, spend 2 mana, and hope the next draw is better. I like that new build btw, it looks like it might be a bit more consistent than the one I made/run atm.

people talk about Mobius and its great , i tried some of his decks and they didnt work for me , maybe am noob . Hakeem's deck's work wonders for me

I miss Mobius too. Sure he could be kind of a dick, but.. that's fine IMO. I can be a dick too at times. He put up a lot of worthy content.. thought provoking posts/threads and was always full of ideas. It's like seeing a newspaper lose one of its controversial flagship writers. Even if you don't agree with him or like his tone.. the quality of the Nogoblins DOTP content has certainly dipped since his ban.

I would second that. It seems like Mobius is a condescending dick a lot of the time, but he is a great Magic player and even better at crafting optimized, thought-provoking builds. I don't know what happened between he and Stevolutionary (whom I also respect as a player and deck builder) that got him perma-banned, but I would vote to give him another chance.

If we're really going to do this could we at least maybe not do it in the deck thread? Kinda came here looking for builds and advice.
