If your a fan of draw go white-blue style control decks, then this is the one for you!

Pure America Control

3 x Wall of Omens
3 x Guard Gomazoa
1 x Baneslayer Angel
1 x Inferno Titan
2 x Resolute Archangel
1 x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

4 x Shock
1 x Negate
2 x Nullify
4 x Think Twice
2 x Reprisal
3 x Dissolve
2 x Anger of the Gods
3 x Darksteel Ingot
2 x Inspiration
2 x Planar Cleansing

4 x Azorius Guildgate
4 x Izzet Guildgate
4 x Boros Guildgate
2 x Mountain
4 x Plains
6 x Island

Had to put 3 Darksteel Ingot instead of 3 other lands because of color issues, mana base works out fine most of the time.

I'm really enjoying this build, Bob. When I first looked at it I didn't think that it would work, but it works very smoothly. The Ingots really help the deck access everything it needs to.

I may be the minority, but is anyone else confused by the thread name changes? I was already familiar with terms "RUG, BUG, America, and Junk" but have no familiarity at all with the new 3-color labels.

The new names are (very) new. Just announced. I'm sure it will take some time to get used to them.

Yeah, if they are "official" names then there is certainly no reason not to switch to them. I'm sure we'll get use to it in due time.

Ohhhhhh ok. That's fine then. I thought they were old, obscure references that I wasn't familiar with, and was very confused.

Lol yeah the first thing I did when I saw the thread name change was google the name, and sure enough they are from the upcoming Khans of Tarkir. I dunno, I think I'll still refer to these colors as America, just cuz 'Merica. But I never did like the names (or lack of name in one case) for the others.

I think we'll get used to them too. But can anyone confirm if Glint-Eye/Yore-Tiller, etc. are the true officiall names for their respective quads? They seem... Out of place.

Those are the names of the Nephilim cycle of creatures from Guildpact. They all cost one each of their respective 4-color combinations. I don't think it is official, nor do I think there is an official name for the quads, but they're the best we got.

Well, hell, guess I can change mine's name from "American Die"...name stunk anyways.

Stars and Stripes
4 Plains
5 Islands
4 Mountains
3 Azorius Guildgate
3 Izzet Guildgate
3 Boros Guildgate

22 lands(because I got tired of drawing 10 in a row....)

4 x Lone Missionary
1 x Baneslayer Angel
2 x Angelic Edict(removal and enchant removal)
1 x Aegis Angel

4 x Think Twice
2 x Talrand, Sky Summoner
4 x Inspiration
1 x Soul of Ravnica

3 x Shock
2 x Anger of the Gods
3 x Cunning Sparkmage
2 x Act of Treason
2 x Bolt of Keranos
1 x Stormbreath Dragon
1 x Inferno Titan

1 x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

2 x Skymark Roc
2 x Truefire Paladin

Deck hasn't lost yet...I have no idea the thought process I had when making it but the thing works..phenomenally. All I thought was "counter this, and counter that" and this is the result.

Protecting Talrand, Soul of Ravnica, inferno Titan. etc. In truth, I was scratching my head and wondering what to replace it with.

Interesting, Shadow. I don't think I could run a deck with Kozilek and only 22 lands. It seems to be much too mana light for me.

I'd seriously consider replacing two Inspiration with two Mentor of the Meek. You'd be able to draw off of the Lone Missionary, Cunning Sparkmage, Truefire Paladin, and any tokens that Talrand generates, with the added benefit of having another 2/2 body on the board.

I'm also not a fan of the Aegis Angel. You're not running Planar Cleanings to combo it with, so it seems a bit much to me. I'd replace it with a Brimaz to lower the curve and give more value to the Mentors (if you put them in). You'd probably have to mess with the mana a little for that. WW on a 3 CMC card would require a little bit more of a commitment to W, I think.

How are the Act of Treason's working out for you? Without a reliable way to sacrifice the creature, they seem a bit extraneous. Personally, I'd replace them with another couple of lands, 24 lands seems right for this deck.

I kept drawing too much land with it. It was getting ridiculous.

BUT, your mentor of the meek suggestion? Excellent. Makes a lot of sense, as does replacing with Brimaz, another excellent suggestion.

The deck is performing ok, and hasn't lost, but any deck can be improved. I think I will try 24 lands again. Better to be safe than sorry,eh?

Thanks for suggestions.

I understand the frustration of getting land flooded, believe me. I just get more frustration out of being mana screwed. If it's working for you at 22 mana, then by all means keep it at 22 mana.

This is the list I've been messing around with tonight.

Lands
6 x Plains
8 x Mountain
2 x Boros Guildgate
4 x Azorius Guildgate
4 x Izzet Guildgate

3 x Shock
3 x Wall of Omens
4 x Think Twice
3 x Truefire Paladin
1 x Brimaz, King of Oreskos
2 x Anger of the Gods
3 x Cunning Spark Mage
3 x Bolt of Keranos
2 x Mentor of the Meek
2 x Inspiration
3 x Angelic Edict
2 x Skyward Roc
1 x Stormbreath Dragon
1 x Baneslayer Angel
1 x Inferno Titan
1 x Resolute Archangel
1 x Sphinx-Bone Wand
1 x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

It feels like it's almost there, but not quite. The blue is splashed just for card draw. I'd love to run some counters to protect my win conditions, but I don't feel like that's feasible without running a full playset of all of the guildgates. Without tri-lands, it just feels bad to run three colors that have double colored casting costs in them. The deck honestly might not be viable without counters to protect the win conditions. I've been winning with it tonight, but that doesn't mean it's a good deck.

I'm not 100% sold on the Cunning Sparkmages, or the Skyward Rocs.

Initially(first few days of multi), the Skyward Roc was doing well. Since? it's been terrible and yesterday I finally dropped him from most of those decks. Most times, the opponent has a creature that wants to be put back in hand.

The Sparkmages, on the other hand, are as good as we say.

You can run negates for a measure of counter. Only 1 blue and it'll protect your tougher creatures you want to stay on the field.

I've been having a problem with Think Twice lately, as I feel 2 spells for 5 mana just isn't all that good. I've tried Military Intelligence but then you have to run the Triton Shorewalkers for it to work and blow any other game plans and it's still iffy. If you're running 24 lands, try Ion Expedition. However, the best draw is running all 12 bounce and Scroll Thief. Or 8 bounce and Artful Dodge. Can't run all that in a 3 color though.

To feel more secure, I'd run 5 plains, 7 mountains and 2 Islands + the guildgates you already have.

Ok, I'm glad the Rocs weren't just underperforming for me. I can see the theoretical value of the Sparkmages. They extend the range of your damage based removal, which allows me to save the Edicts for the big threats I come across, I just haven't been in that situation yet.

Think Twice's value is that it's an instant whose casting cost can be broken up into easier to manage chunks. Yeah, it ends up costing one more mana than Inspiration, but from playing it in other decks, being able to squeeze it in on your opponent's end step is huge. There are several times I wouldn't have had the four mana available for Inspiration, but coming up with 2 or 3 mana to cast it from hand or flashback it has been doable.

I'll take out the Rocs for sure. The question now becomes do I replace them with a Shock and Bolt for a full playset of each, or with the Negates? Or maybe Planar Cleansings? Damn, there aren't enough hours in the day to work, sleep, and test all of these ideas in my head!

Well, friend, you're in luck. I'm disabled and have nothing but time to playtest. You've the Angelic Edicts in there, so Planar Cleansing isn't needed as you have the Anger of the Gods in there. I'd go with 2 negates. If they don't work out, go with the full playset.

Yeah on the Think Twice.

I've been also playtesting Thassa's Bounty. Not bad if you only run 1 or 2. If you're using Archaeomancers, the discard effect can even benefit. I'd kill for Mind Spring to get added...or Flow of Ideas.

I've so much time, I've even run threads where I test unused cards and find uses for them. I specialize in blue and white, with black being my favorite, but only my 3rd best. I'm trying to improve my green and red and that's been growing a LOT lately.

Got a build I'd like help with. If it sucks ass, just say so.. I can take it.

I wanted to make a red/white enchantment deck based around evasive creatures. It started out as mostly blue creatures and ended up as a hodgepodge of crap. Squadron Hawk and Triton Shorestalker were the two main candidates for enchantments, and I had some other crappy blue flyers in there but ended up removing them. Mana hasn't been an issue.. draw is taken care of with Bident of Thasa and Think Twice.. but I'm open to options there too. Military intelligence was kinda meh compared to what I got off the Bident. Anyway.. looking for feedback. Removal is always an issue, especially with enchantment decks. God's Willing is looking better and better.

2x Hero of Iroas
2x Ordeal of Heliod
3x Squadron Hawk
3x Nimbus Wings (mostly for toughness against Anger of the Gods)
3x Attended Knight (a later addition, doesn't fit the theme though)
3x Arrest (my only creature control)
2x Rhox Faithmender (another late addition, doesn't fit theme, but is really cool with lightning Talons + others)
3x Marked By Honor
1x Baneslayer Angel

Blue

4x Triton Shorestalker
4x Think Twice
2x Bident of Thasa

Red

4x Lightning Talons
2x Burning Anger (not attached to this one)

Thanks in advance. It's pretty skewed to White right now.. didn't start out that way.

I have a Boros Aura build posted that's pretty solid and well-tested if you're looking for ideas. Have a look and post over there with your thoughts if you're willing to drop the blue. If you really want to keep the blue, come back here and I'll see if I can help you brew something up.
