Damn right it is. Though I think we're likely to abuse the hell out of it down here. I mean, we are given to making horrible puns on a higher than average basis.

Why do we need crime scene investigation?

This might help clear things up. (This character regularly makes a pun or other sort of one-liner right before the title sequence of the show. Now people like to add the "yeah" scream to their own terrible puns.)

Oh I knew that, I just didn't make the pun connection thing.

So in other news, the other legendary creatures are starting to filter out.
And we have another plane based on the far east... and near as I can work, it is NOT Kamigawa.

Where do you see the East Asian plane? I only see Gahiji and Nekusar.

... Gahiji.
There are a ton of classical chinese motifs present there, not just on the beast, but in the background as well.

Gahiji is like African, Rwandan if I'm not incorrect. (A cop named Gahiji killed someone in my city a couple years ago.)

ETA: I cannot make out much, but the people's dress don't look Chinese, and the columns don't look particularly Chinese. They're just carved and actually, when I think of Chinese columns, they're pretty straight (and red). I do see the sweep of a long's frill in Gahiji, but that's it. The name could be an attempt at Chinese that accidentally happened into an African name, but I don't think hi fits. That sounds more Japanese to me.

If I had to guess, somewhere around Baltimore, Maryland.

I think it's a case where the name happens upon something that isn't what they were aiming for. The epithet is clearly meant to be evocative of the East though.
The people dressed there very similarly to the kind of dress you'd see in Tibetan monks.
As for the columns, they have a very similar style present in sculptures during the Tang dynasty and onwards.
Aside from that, the hanging flowers are very reminiscent of flora present in Southern China, though it has an Indian flare to it as well.

Gahiji himself screams chinese beast though. Somewhere between a Foo Lion and a Qilin.
I suppose some argument could be made for Korean influences, but to me, this is abundantly chinese. (And I won't get into the argument of separating Tibet and China. That's well beyond the scope of this discussion.)

I went back to zoom in on it. The head is Chinese-ish, but nothing else about it reads Chinese to me still. I didn't realize the green was people prostrating; I thought they were splashes of green at the bottom of the standing figures' clothing. The clothes don't seem distinguishably Tibetan though. They could easily be chitons or kanga or whatever.

The color palette also reads more African than anything Asian to me. We'll see a blurb about the little guy soon enough either way.

Man, you guys have better eyesight than I do... I can't make out a damn thing in any of the art that was just spoiled. :/

Also, what the hell is Liliana doing quoted on an Elemental card? Ugh, the habit of just slapping her on every damn black spell continues, much to our unending sorrow.

Not really. I like that we get a big Black evil thing that isn't a Demon.

But yeah, the Liliana quote was kinda unnecessary there.

I don't get the point of elementals that aren't of natural things, especially in black when Demons are already embodiments of mana. I don't get the idea behind an elemental doing blood deals with you.

Maybe if it was like an elemental of grave soil or swamp muck with whispering skeletons embedded in it, or something.
