I don't if it is the meta or just me, but I could not build a decent simic deck no matter what I tried. Only achieved 25 to 30% chance of winning at most.
The only one I have tested is Mobius one against the AI and its pretty good/fun. No idea how it would hold up online though but I'm assuming Mobius already went through that trouble so it must be good enough to be competitive.

It may be good, but certainly not enough to achieve a competitive status at the current meta where tokens and aggro is the the key to victory.

I used his list and many others without any good result.

If that's the case I don't think Simic will do well regardless then unless it goes big. Tbh Simic got screwed out of evolve cards...ones the AI got but not us ><

I present to you this abomination:

:g::u: Ancient Seas :g::u:
13 x Forest
12 x Island
4 x Elvish Pioneer
3 x Prey Upon
3 x Hedron Crab
4 x Coral Barrier
2 x Guard Gomazoa
4 x Cultivate
2 x Arbor Colossus
4 x Thassa's Bounty
1 x Soul of Zendikar
2 x Terra Stomper
3 x Pelakka Wurm
2 x Genesis Hydra
1 x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

It may not look like it in hind sight be this was supposed to be a Mill deck. :D Basically I took the best I could from a mill deck and integrated a little more ancient depths into it and came up with that deck. Basically, this deck has 2 win conditions, one is Mill and the other is to pound someone's face in. If you get stalled the crabs should help you mill your opponent. I would not call it a super competitive deck but more of a "fun deck."

Okay, so I've got the deck that I'm going to start toying with once I have all the cards unlocked:

4 x Simic Guildgate
12 x Forest
9 x Island

4 x Young Wolf

4 x Elvish Visionary
3 x Quickling

4 x Pestermite
4 x Cultivate

3 x Nylea's Disciple
1 x Mold Shambler
1 x Vengevine
1 x Bident of Thassa

3 x Species Gorger
3 x Garruk's Packleader

1 x Soul of Zendikar
1 x Soul of Ravnica

2 x Genesis Hydra

I tried to fill the deck with spells that are good enough on their own and simply get better with a Species Gorger in play. With that in mind, here are my thoughts on the choices:

Young Wolf - comes down early and gets in for some chip damage, then goes into chump-block mode. Bouncing and recasting him is very cheap and it resets undying so he can Fog a non-evasive threat turn after turn.

Elvish Visionary - Great on T2 to keep you hitting land drops and a great bounce option in the lategame.

Quickling - The flash lets you save a key dude from removal and a 2/2 flier for is great. Not a bad bounce target in a pinch, either, though I'd rather leave my evasive critters on the board.

Pestermite - Flash, flying, plus an EtB should be an all-star in this deck.

Cultivate - This deck is a bit top-heavy and plans on recasting its dudes, so this fuels the mana requirements nicely while thinning the deck.

Nylea's Disciple - This guy gains us a bit of life to help in the battle against aggro and is a great bounce target. Add in the fact the he triggers Garruk's Packleader and you have a winner.

Mold Shambler - A silver bullet against non-creature permanents, and a solid bounce target. Bonus points for triggering the Packleader here, as well.

Vengevine - This card is very powerful on its own and has some nice synergy in this deck. You can bounce it if you have to and still attack with it, and it's not too difficult to imagine triggering his graveyard clause because we can bounce and recast Quicklings and Visionaries.

Bident of Thassa - I have some fliers to trigger this on offense and forcing attacks is very powerful. You can use it as conditional removal or to enable an alpha-strike once you untap.

Species Gorger - An undercosted fatty and the engine that makes the deck tick.

Garruk's Packleader - This guy has a solid body and since we plan on recasting dudes, we can eventually overwhelm the opponent with card advantage.

Soul of Ravnica - 6/6 flier for with upside. Too powerful to exclude in this deck.

Soul of Zendikar - 6/6 reacher for with upside. Too powerful to exclude in this deck.

Genesis Hydra - We can feel a bit safer casting this guy at lower mana costs in this deck because we can replay him later. This is probably the best EtB in the deck to abuse and the fact that he gets bigger when you recast him is just gravy.

It's certainly a theoretical deck, but I think that just playing the creature strategy at first and tweaking the list to adapt to the metagame as you go is the best solution. That's why I've eschewed cards like Prey Upon for now; I won't know if I need them until I see how the meta actually shapes up.

Thoughts?

I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying this deck.

I win more with other decks, but this the one I am enjoying.

Thank you for sharing.

I played with it while unlocking and you're right that it was fun; but if you get into a stalled board (and you will) there really isn't a way to push through damage outside of the Pestermites and the Soul of Ravnica. I may try something new with Species Gorger eventually, but I'm having too much fun brewing control decks. :)

Edited my tempo(It's tempo, right?) deck above after playing with it online a little.
This time I'm kinda serious since I have actually got some wins with this.
It now it looks like this:

Spoiler

Basically get a couple of dudes out, then remove blockers and attack until you win.
Any suggestion?

I'd max the Shorestalkers and I'd include at least one Bident of Thassa. Your creature base looks pretty weak to support Hunt the Weak, so you could definitely cut there. I also think 22 land is too low, especially with five mana cards. I know you're running Military Intelligence, but you still need to hit your drops; I'd run 23.

I also don't like Niblis of the Breath here, you want your creatures to be attacking. Chasm Skulker also has a home here.

I've been meaning to fiddle with this archetype, I'll test a brew later today and see what I come up with.

The horror. I had a friend with Species Gorger out, constantly bumping Archeomancer into his hand, and using it to fish out cultivate with a Roil Elemental on the board. I cried.

I'm not convince on extra tritons since I have only one way to realistically pumping them permanently and having two on the battlefield at the same time seems horrible, I'm mostly including them to have something to do turn 1 if I don't have a gate or a raptor, or I don't have a wolf to pump.

I'm not sure I can tap out on the fourth turn for bident and still connect without a huge tempo loss for losing too many creatures, a single unanswered intelligence is enough to not let me with an empty hand and it draws growths and voyage's ends before the declare blockers step.

I actually had hunt the weak being almost always live, it's mostly nice for removing blockers and creatures with a nasty ability that will most likely not enter in combat like the guildmage, the elk with landfall , banisher priest and tarland when enlarge doesn't work.
By the time things are big enough to ignore it, bouncing or tapping those creature will most likely be enough to get all the damage I need.

This is all speculation and I'm curious to hear about your experience with the archetype, I actually never tried bident.

I'll probably cut a niblis for an island, reaching 5 mana is hard even with the extra mulligan with 22 lands, thanks for the suggestion.

I just realized you're not running Beastmaster Ascension, so perhaps maxing Shorestalkers isn't the best idea. I didn't brew this last night, I was tweaking other lists, but I do mean to try something similar soon. I also need to get at BW lifegain and RDW too, though!

Thanks to Hakeem for helping tweak this list. I didn't want to post this until I had tested it so here goes.

14 x island
8 x forest

4 x cloudfin raptor
4 x triton shorestalker
4 x kraken hatchling
4 x vapor snag
4 x elvish visionary
4 x timberland guide
4 x titanic growth
3 x military intelligence
1 x voyage's end
2 x chasm skulker
2 x beastmaster ascension
1 x Bident of Thassa
1 x paragon of gathering mists

This deck curves out really well, especially cloudfin raptor into timberland guide.

Just wanted to say that the above deck is more resilient than I first thought. I have won a game attacking with a flying 5/9 kraken hatching thanks to paragon and titanic growth. But my best win was winning through my opponent casting pelakka wurm 4 times. The first 3 times I bounced it using snag and voyages end, whilst digging through my deck with military intelligence. I found beastmaster ascension and had 7 creatures in play, played it and used titanic growth to finish him off.

Ha! That's awesome man. I'm gonna try this build out, I like it!

Ok, so I'm not all that great at putting decks together, but it's probably my favorite part about TCGs. I would like to improve. Here's my attempt at a bounce-type deck. Feel free to rip to shreds, all I ask is that reasoning is provided. Thanks in advance!

11 x Forest
10 x Island
4 x Simic Guildgate

4 x Cloudfin Raptor
4 x Elvish Visionary
2 x Timberland Guide
2 x Titanic Growth
3 x Quickling
2 x Frost Lynx
2 x Chasm Skulker
2 x Battering Krasis
2 x Genesis Hydra
3 x Cultivate
2 x Nylea's Disciple
2 x Inspiration
3 x Species Gorger
1 x Soul of Ravnica
1 x Pelakka Wurm

Couple comments behind some of my decision:

Frost Lynx has been fairly useful defensively for stopping opponents best creatures, and can be used to push extra damage through.

Battering Krasis is in here mostly for trample, and pushing through damage with Titanic Growth.

On that note Titanic Growth has been much better than I expected. It can be used to devastating effect both offensively and defensively.

Not sure if my land count is correct. It's some mix that I can't quite recall. Also, I don't quite have all the cards unlocked, and only a few premiums. I will most likely end up getting them all, and am curious if any of those would fit here as well.

I had a quick scan of the decklist because I built something similar, and my problem was forcing through damage. Titanic Growth is fine on a flier, but your Skulkers, Gorgers, Hydras, and Soul need a way to push through. I abandoned the list so I don't have the answer, but Enlarge grants trample and I think Chorus of Might does as well so those are cards you could look at. You could also consider more Pelakka Wurms and perhaps some Terra Stompers, as well.

Since you are running a creature heavy build I would recommend you cut 2 x Inspiration for either Bident of Thassa or Military Intelligence as that card is inferior to either of those. Also, with 25 lands and the few big creatures you have do you really think you need the Cultivates? I think you could probably run that build without those.

Hakeem - Yeah, I have found that to be an issue at times. I like Growth because it's cheap and an instant, but Chorus of Might could be decent.

Harbing3r - Agreed on the Cultivates and Inspirations. They are coming out. I'm hesitant on Military Intelligence as I typically don't like to attack with the Visionary's, Guide's and Lynx, since they represent the majority of my bounce pieces. Bident seem like a pretty good fit though, especially as I generally have the larger creatures. This could also help with the pushing damage through issue

How about these for changes:

-3 Cultivate
-2 Inspiration

+2 Bident of Thassa
+1 Pelakka Wurm
+1 Terra Stomper
+1 Enlarge/Chorus of Might/Something else???

I think I would usually choose enlarge over chorus unless it was a token build.
