Search your library for a basic land card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.
Mastery - If you control an artifact, an enchantment, a creature, and a land, you may instead search your library for a creature card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

I suppose the P/T on my cad can be raised. I was thinking a 2/2 on turn 2 was pretty good, but green decks aren't aggro enough to use up a land on that. Not when their creatures are already so good. Genju of the Cedars says my card could use a little boost.

I vote Cato. Neat card, but I don't like how it gets a new function instead of an enhancement from mastery. Maybe if it put the land onto the field?

Yeaaah.
Make a green common or uncommon that cares about creatures entering the battlefield.

Well great minds think... consistently, I guess.
New criteria: Green uncommon that returns creatures to your hand.

Return target creature you control to its owner's hand. Add mana equal to its mana cost to your mana pool. (Mana cost includes color.)

I can see the arguments, but am not entirely convinced. The days of blinking spirit being a relevant card (for instance ice age=all other white creatures suck; kamigama=casting spirits matter and damage goes on the stack) are long over.

I see no clear verdict either way. Perhaps a flavor argument. Perhaps the fact that the set needs this card to NOT be an efficient blocker.

I never bought the whole "it stays blocked even if the creature isn't there anymore" thing. But I guess that's why I'm not the head of Magic.

Knifethrower: there isn't a balance problem, but there is a NWO problem. That sort of thing can be confusing to newer players, which is why we have blood bairn instead of Nantuko Husk, although I'm not entirely clear as to whether or not we're following NWO. That seems like the sort of thing we should figure out.

Maraka Wolfcaller :2::g:
Creature - Human Shaman
When ~ enters the battlefield, you may return another creature you control to its owner's hand. If you do, put a 2/2 green wolf creature token onto the battlefield.
