Sorry for the lack of response Keeper. Works been hell and the thread's been busy with all sorts of craziness too. The list looks pretty good. I just have a few recommendations
:
I don't think Kithkin ever came up. However, I don't see any real argument against them beyond "we already have a bunch of races".
:
Definitely got to have some elementals.
and
elementals really sell the set's flavour with their contrasts.
:
Black races are tough. For more black characteristics you can always throw in an assassin, a necromancer, a bat, maybe a merchant? I guess the big question is, do we want v
m
i
? I fear that may be too much focus on the undead, but the eternal night works with them pretty good. They can always steal space from skeletons, which I never saw as a huge player.
Ogres might be worth putting in black instead of red. Black needs the creature types more than red does.
I wouldn't use Dune-style sand wurms. I'd rather have draconic ones. They might act like sand wurms though. They would be green though.
:
I would concentrate elementals in midrange and have a few bleed into iconic. We've got the mother of all sun-baked deserts covering half the planet. Lets have a few powerful elementals to match it. Elelemntals are great in that they can be any size so small ones work too.
Viashino can straddle the line between iconic and midrange.
I would put antlions in red. They just seem red to me. I guess it's the burrowing.
:
Treefolk probably shouldn't go below midrange, except maybe one oddball.
I'd add fungus for the Frostwynd side. Saprolings go with that I guess. Man I wish Saprolings had the fungi type.
I definitely want land wurms in the set. Top of our food chain right there. Don't have to be elders even.
