Hi all

Thought I would post the deck I have been using online to great results. The only real loses I have had with this have largely been due to land screw.

4* Boros Guildgate
3* Rakdos Guildgate
3* Orzhov Guildgate
8* Mountain
5* plains
3* swamp

2* Gods Willing
2* Shock
2* Darksteel Axe
2* Stoneforge Mystic
2* Reprisal
4* Squadron Hawk
2* Anger of the Gods
1* Brimaz, King of Oreskos
4* Arrest
3* Auger Spree
4* Ogre Jailbreaker
2* Galvanic Juggernaut
1* Baneslayer Angel
1* Stormbreath Dragon
1* Inferno Titan

I'm not sure if the 2nd Gods willing is better then another card, maybe the 3rd Galvanic Juggernaut, but it's working either way.

I'm going to get started breaking this thread up. It might take a while, but, when it's done, I hope to have each post moved to the correct thread.

I built this deck modelling it after a deck I had in sealed play in duels 2014. Loved it then, and I am loving this new version as well! It runs great so far and I have not yet lost a match with it. Looking forward to more field playing to see how it shapes over the long haul.

This is including premium cards

END OF DAYS

3 x Wall of Omens
3 x Reprisal
1 x Baneslayer Angel
1 x Planar Cleansing
2 x Resolute Archangel
3 x Quest for the Gravelord
3 x Ulcerate
4 x Ogre Jailbreaker
2 x Rune-Scarred Demon
4 x Shock
1 x Volcanic Geyser
2 x Anger of the Gods
1 x Inferno Titan
2 x Darksteel Ingot
4 x Auger Spree

4 x Plains
4 x Swamps
4 x Mountains
4 x Rakdos Guildgate
4 x Boros Guildgate
4 x Orzhov Guildgate

This deck is AWESOME AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE THEME!

Raise up the walls in defense as you murder your enemies troops viciously with your dark magic. Rain fires to burn units or incinerate entire armies as Angels and Demons make appearances in the skies above. Ogres will tromp the lands free to attack the enemy since your relentless magic has cleared the path and once in a while the dead will join your cause. When the enemy is within killing range, you will finish him with a unit who has nothing blocking his path, a malicious fireball, or smite him for his past sins!

Can you fathom why I named it what I did?

It runs great. Kill their guys with your spells while you setup walls and defenders that attack as well thanks to your gates. Kills will net you 5/5 creatures once in a while and enjoy it when you clear the boards or lay down the big boys!

Can you fathom why I named it what I did?

^^^ME LIKE

So i played quite a few games with this mad creation, what do you think about adding Suffer the past? Makes use of the 100 creatures u have killed.

Lots of fun RIGHT?!

As far as suffer is concerned, I think it could be great here. Could add to survival (though not really much issue anyway lol) as well as kiilling! I like the idea however, I wouldn't really want to lose anything. My first choice would be to remove the gravelord for it but I like the beefy 5/5 as another removal leecher. They usually will want it out of there which is good for the other beefy guys when they come. Less chances of the important guys getting removed!

Please do give it a try and tell me how it works for you! Maybe I will try it out too at some point but this works so great already.

FUN? This deck is a wrecking house. Dude 5/5 on turn 3 with 2 shocks and a ulcerate. Sick man, siiiiick. Hide this post, this is the deck that shall not be named.
I was only thinking of Suffering to counter other graveyard affects, grull on xbox seems popular, they go to resuce and you insta flash Suffering taking away the beefy bad boys.
This deck is all kind of nasty

I know!!!! Glad you love it as much as I do!
By the way, did you notice I INTERNATIONALLY used NO CREATURES below 4 defense? Nullifies so much removal and they survive my Anger of the Gods!

Yeah, suffering could totally fit but I would be afraid to take apart the art that I have created here! lol

P.s. Check out the RUG build I just posted. I have been having GREAT success with it too! ;)

2 x Gods Willing
2 x Wall of Omens
2 x Reprisal
1 x Brimaz, King of Oreskos
2 x Banisher Priest
1 x Baneslayer Angel
2 x Planar Cleansing
3 x Ulcerate
1 x Suffer the Past
2 x Tribute to Hunger
4 x Ogre Jailbreaker
2 x Graveborn Muse
1 x Shadowborn Demon
1 x Indulgent Tormentor
1 x Rune-Scarred Demon
1 x Griselbrand
3 x Shock
2 x Anger of the Gods
1 x Stormbreath Dragon
1 x Inferno Titan
2 x Traveler's Amulet

5 x Plains
4 x Swamps
4 x Mountains
3 x Rakdos Guildgate
4 x Boros Guildgate
4 x Orzhov Guildgate

This the list I've been running, it uses premium cards. The idea is pretty simple.. pack in the bombiest bombs all over the curve and a bunch of cheap removal to get there :D

There is no shortage of greed in this list, with the 3-4 slot loaded with opposing double costs, but despite that I normally don't have too much of an issue. 2 Traveler's Amulets helps smooth out my mana, I was at 3 earlier but cut one along the way. Tough to say which number is correct and i might go back to 3. I chose it over Darksteel Ingot because i wanted help getting the lands I need without having to tap out turn 3.

Suffer the Past was a great suggestion, it offers a whole new angle of attack to finish the game, it hoses any graveyard based strategies, and it can pull you back when you are behind. Not only that but it is instant! I had completely misread the card the first time i saw it, thinking it only counted creatures.. now it is at least an auto 1 of

Muse has been pretty good, pretty much just a poor mans bloodgift demon, but the extra gas has been helpful.

Brimaz has been awesome, shame he can only be a 1 of but he has no problem shutting down aggro, and will take over the game if not dealt with. Even if he eats removal that isn't a big problem, since good removal is hard to come by if you aren't us :D

Thinking about cutting a single Gods Willing, maybe even both, I just haven't needed it as much as i thought i did. Likely replace it with another Wall of omens or traveler's amulet

I do like this deck aswell. The only thing i would think/maybe change is taking Banisher priest its going to suck really bad when thats the only removal in your hand and they throw down a Rune-scarred demon than they just kill the priest and get the creature back, and get another activation. Auger spree is better, you would be surprised at how many times this will kill anything. Take out Traveler's Amulet and put in 2 darksteel ingot. Sometimes you can tap all your lands but still have this up to shock or ulcerate, plus is indestructible, so the board sweeps wont hurt it. The only problem i have had with this black/white removal bomb deck is card advantage, i only have 2 wall of omen so im going to throw in a Graveborn Muse it dies to anger of the gods, but it can also really help late late game, which i tend to lose due to either to much land or a lack of removal. Suffer the past just wrecks, really helps you use the land thats just sitting in front of you, plus like u said its instant, haha wtf? Gods willing is nice considering the bombs are hard to kill, but i cant let anything else go to put them in.

The only problem i'm having this build is super late game, when they can kill all my bombs and they just draw gas, and they oly thing im drawing is tapped land. I only have 2 wall of omens, so that may be the problem. Im going to add a Graveborn Muse until i get another wall.

The time and thinking that went into this deck is brilliant. Anger of the gods really shines in this deck, the power/toughness of the creatures fits in perfect for what you are trying to do. planar cleansing wipes everything from the board expect your AMAZING Darksteel ingot. Dude darksteel does work!!!! Tapping all your lands and still being about to hold up a shock/ulcerate is sick.

Sufferings does work in this deck, just 1 tho. A great card to have late game when you have a crap load of mana. Plus its instant. Sometimes allowing a 4 turn clock turn into a untapp and swing with that 4/4 guys that needs a gate to attack. (Cant think of his name)

I love this deck, but the only problems i have is super late game with no card advantage and all my dudes getting killed by removal. Still is really really hard to get this deck in that position, but it does happen and it does suck. So maybe a graveborn muse will help, dies to anger, which sucks... but i dont know. I cant tell, What do you think? What probelms do you run into? Maybe im just bad I burn thru to much **** to fast.

EDIT*20 mins after post: So man i have been sitting here looking at this deck for 20 mins. I cant decide if taking 1 ulcerate out or 1 Quest for the Grave for Suffering??? Is it worth it?? Gosh thinking taking 1 card out is a really tough decision...I mean really...I love the Quest, but sometimes its a bad late game draw maybe 1 less for Suffer the past?

Yeah the biggest problem with this deck is our lack of card draw and an abundance of 1 for 1's. We do have 4 sweepers, but half of them are costed at 6cmc, so i try to really max out my value with anger of the gods and am not afraid to use my life as a resource and wait for a potential 3 for 1. (Life gain from suffer the past really helps here)

You are correct about Banisher priest, i dont think he is optimal and is mostly a relic of the days before adding in the 4/4 ogre defender (which i wish i had done sooner he does serious work) and needed more bodies to apply pressure.

Muse doesnt conflict with anger too much, and the upside is well worth the risk. In games where anger is profitable, muse will often act as a decent road block forcing your opponent to overextend into a sweeper if he is on the board, while netting you at least one card to replace himself.

The troubles ive had with the deck up to date was a little bit of a lack of threat density (mostly pre ogre jailbreaker) and no reliable lifegain. This kind of puts us at a disadvantage against other grindy decks (esp mono black with bloodghast, the one mana undying card sucks here too) but i think suffer the past really helps shore up those matchups as it does everything we want except draw cards. As long as things stay creature oriented i think dega is well positioned

I think the 3rd wall of omen will help with your consistency a little bit. I think your issue could be in holding onto removal sometimes instead of blasting off EVERYTHING always? (As in you don't always have to fire off your removal)

There can always be issues with REMOVAL HEAVY DECKS but, in those cases you will probably finish them off with the fireball thing. beautiful thing about the demons is they can fetch what you need. The enchantment/artifact remover, the angel to regain all your life, or the fireball to finish them off. This deck has so many ways to win. The 4/4s don't usually draw removal when they first arrive and usually get in hits thanks to your removals. That is what they are here for.

You do have to remember that you don't have things to regain stuff from your graveyard. I think the fireball and the angel are the biggest targets for the demons. The deck is about hitting them mid rounds and finishing them off with one of the many bombs. Or a fireball. The angel will save your life many times too. If you have the fireball spell in hand I would recommend you always save that. There is plenty of removal for the creatures. I would almost NEVER recommend using the fireball on a creature. Have faith in the deck and it will give you what you need to win. ;)

P.s. FOR SURE use your health to your advantage. Don't be afraid to take hits. SAVE YOUR BIG HITTER REMOVALS FOR BIGGER THINGS. So many times I have returned to 20 life from 1 with the angel! This deck is so well tuned that it is hard for other decks to deal with that recovery.

I have come to a realization that Ulcerate in the decks present state, is also ticking down your life too. I wouldn't suggest their complete removal but what I AM PROPOSING, is removing ONE for the suffer. I think this change will be MUCH appreciated. I feel we have plenty of options for turn 1 and 2 and we will NOT miss the ONE Ulcerate much. Also the deck has PLENTY of removal outside of ulcerate that dropping the one will not degrade your killing frenzy.

The decision has been made. -1 Ulcerate +1 Suffer I am editing the build posted earlier now to reflect this decision and am confident that it is for the best. Von you let me know how you feel about the change too!

Also check out my new description under the edited build. ;)

Ha! The best creatures from each color with a ton of destroy/control. How can that be a bad thing? ;P

I feel that double white cost on a turn three card hinders him ESPECIALLY since you run less plains than all other cards. Granted he is only a one of but he is a one of that when you are able to play him mosly, it isn't really a great option anymore.

There's 11 white sources of mana (not even counting the Ingots). In essence, that would be equivalent of running 11 plains in a 2-color deck with no dual lands. No, I don't always get double white by turn 3, but it's not a stretch to do so, and it's not like I always have Brimaz sitting in my hand on turn 3. Also, Brimaz doesn't need to be played on turn 3. It was the 4th Jailbreaker I took out to make room for him, and the only thing Jailbreaker has over Brimaz is being destroyed by Reprisal. Double white mana cost aside, Brimaz will always be more threatening and better to play than a Jailbreaker.

I have to agree with mega, Brimaz is most certainly worth it here (and tbh in most decks containing white unless it is just the slightest splash). I think Brimaz is one the most powerful cards we have access to, especially for the cost.

He's good at refilling your hand with removal, if he doesn't die before you get him going. I might test out 2 Mind Rot in place of the Ingots.
