15377 is the only one I could not find circle information on. Given the flavor source for this game I would imagine that Dante has the ability to kill someone in his circle. Since in the flavor source he was the only doing the "killing" not lucifer. The problem with this theory is IF 15377 was in the same circle as aaarrrgh he did not move to circle 2 or 4. He could have possibly moved to circle 5. Is there anyone there that can say who else is there?
careful not to invest too hard in flavor speculation. Zinger is an experienced enough mod that obvious flavor assumptions won't always be correct.

:duel:

It is mostly just a thought. I want to stay out of the 15377/neosilk back and forth because it may bring something to light. I was/am trying to bring up a conversation point to get some more information.

The only way that theory works is if 15377 was in circle 3 last canto. I've learned he isn't in circles 2, 3, or 4. So if anyone can confirm circle 5 doesn't have him then it falls flat, but I'll have learned something.

Also I don't believe the divine and infernos are treated any differently in hell. I imagine each circle has 1 (or more) effect that is indiscriminate. Altimis, if telling the truth, seems to only conveying one ability per canto so far. One that was a benefit (x2 Revenge vote) and one that is a negative (nega-vote).

With rstnme, razorborne and now altimis's vote well put this to rest. But it does raise the question if they each get a nega-vote then why hasn't Neosilk?

altimis, is it possible from the way your PM explaining the functions of circle 6 is worded that you don't get a negavote for voting for anyone on circle 6?

As far as I know, there are no restrictions or work-arounds.
The only confusing wording is ghost vote.

If you vote another (not-you) player, you get a ghost vote. (That's about as simply as I can put it without quoting from the PM).

Now apparently the ghost votes show up in the votecount updates, my main concern is whether the ghost votes actually count towards your votes received.

It certainly changes the way people play not knowing regardless. I'm just saying that it's not explicitly stated is all.

I saw my name and the word 'lurking' together. That's always a good way to summon me.

Anyway, I will say that last Canto I choose a circle that would not influence my vote or people voting for me.
Also, I am one of the people that is more lenient in their choices between the Canto abilities. I can choose instantaneously, but only once each Canto.

I would assume the ghost-vote counts. I also saw half votes after all, so there probably is also a circle where the vote counts only half, or perhaps 150%, or both with 2 circles.
Also, I'm pretty sure the lynch threshold was said to just be for the final number when someone is lynched. The circle abilities are not taken into account. So with 12 players, it is 6.5 to lynch.

CANTO 2.4

That thou mayst free thee from this apprehension,
I’ll tell thee why I came, and what I heard
At the first moment when I grieved for thee.
Among those was I who are in suspense,
And a fair, saintly Lady called to me
In such wise, I besought her to command me.
Her eyes where shining brighter than the Star;
And she began to say, gentle and low,
With voice angelical, in her own language:
‘O spirit courteous of Mantua,
Of whom the fame still in the world endures,
And shall endure, long-lasting as the world;
A friend of mine, and not the friend of fortune,
Upon the desert slope is so impeded
Upon his way, that he has turned through terror,
And may, I fear, already be so lost,
That I too late have risen to his succour,
From that which I have heard of him in Heaven.

NeoSilk (3): rstnme, razorborne, altimis
15377 (3): NeoSilk
rstnme (1):
razorborne (1):
altimis (1):

NeoSilk and 15377 are at MAJORITY MINUS FOUR

Vote log

OK, now I'm even more confused. I'll officially take back my ideas on Razor, as I find it unlikely that Razor/Alt/Soup are all divine, however, they all seem to be taking the same penalty (since all 4 of us are in the same circle) and rather than my getting a penalty, I get a double vote. I'll admit it, I'm at a loss, and, I'm starting to wonder if my claiming was a bad idea.

I think it's time for a test vote;

Unvote
Vote: Altimis

I'm wondering if it will count for 2 votes on him, or more/less

And yes, this is currently just a test, I'd like to see what happens.

As part of this test, would you like me to unvote you?

This game strikes me as very odd, as we're attempting to figure the game out while we play it. I feel like I read a story where someone was forced to play a game and didn't know the rules, and they had a certain number of times they could break the rules, and in breaking the rules they were able to contextualize other rules. Trial and error like this benefits the mafia/divine if only because it gives them more time.

Occum's Razor would say that when you have four samples (the voters of tier 6) in which three are the same and one is different, it's because of the one that difference has occurred. I theorized earlier that Neo was simply trying to railroad Razor yesterday. That he jumped to six today because he knew he wasn't going to be effected. This is supported by his throwing three quick votes without even seeing what effect one would have at first. That confidence isn't indicative of a man trying to figure things out, it's indicative of a man who already knows the score. The obvious assumption last canto would be that most people would avoid 6 like the plague given the drawback that was displayed. So Neo's play would be relatively safe, but out of sheer dumb luck more people ended up in 6 than I believe Neo was anticipating. Support for this theory is circumstantial at this point, but Neo's play on the whole has been uniquely agenda'ed rather than team agenda'ed. I wouldn't be surprised if he was comedy aligned.

@Alt, I believe the countdown is being held up by Shock, not Scar. Scar posted early in the canto so even though he has been a bit absent since then (barring his most recent post), his one post requirement would be registered.

Soup - no, I'm not asking anyone else to do anything. Don't want to be accused of railroading.

Numbers - *sigh*. I've been very clear in stating my motives are my own, and may or may not mesh with others. I'm starting to wish I hadn't claimed, as I'm no longer sure if I'm in the majority or minority.

I'm still not sure why others are not voting for numbers. He's added no info, not even his circle. He's derailed every conversation back on me.

I get that people don't believe me, which is why I'm starting to think that my lynch might be the best way to provide info to others with the same game goal as myself. But, on the other hand, lynching Numbers would likely even give more, and, from a personal standpoint, I think it would be in my best interest (and in the best interest of anyone else trying to lynch Dante) to lynch him.
I'm planning on moving my vote back to him, once I see what happens with my current vote.

Remember, talking is great, but votes are concrete. Let's get a trail out there that people can follow once more people are lost. If that mean voting for me, then go ahead.

I didn't even remember Shock was here. This is what happens when you lurk.
Altogether, I'm not complaining as I don't mind. I was mainly calling out Scarlet for two reasons:
1) Because I thought he was last
2) Because he always has good insight
A third minor reasons, which I posted last time:
3) Due to the lurkiness / lack of heat, he should have a fairly neutral understanding of what's going on.

As such I'm curious to see what he has to offer us.

@Neosilk, I have to say when I saw the vote count 2.4 come out I had pretty much the same thoughts as 15377 laid out. I was wondering if you moved to the 6th level knowing that it wouldn't affect you at all just to prove razor was divine. But you had to know that Hello_World was probably going to go there as well, or were you so focused on Razorborne and your plan you didn't see that?

You say that we should lynch you, so that you are saying you are not lucifer or dante? The circle 6 not affecting you is really odd. You're waiting for the next vote count to see if you get a double vote on altimis. Have you forgotten that Canto 2.2 came out where your nickname vote didn't count? In Canto 2.2 your vote on razorborne only counted once.

@15377, the last time, granted it has been the only time, I agreed with you, you were mafia. You are the only person who hasn't claimed a circle, nor has anyone outed your position in this canto or the previous. I know last Canto my vote on you worked normally. Since Neosilk's vote counted double, I want to see if that was just him or is it the circle you are in.

Vote 15377

I'll be honest, I really was not thinking enough about who was going to move where.
Yes, I am not Lucifer nor am I Dante. I don't want to be lynched, but, if lynching me helps whoever else is on my team get information on how to win, I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

defeatism is a pretty serious scum tell. lynching town is never in the town's best interest, which means that if you're town you should be trying to talk your way out of being lynched. giving up, especially this early, is a sign of an attempted bluff, where you think you can trick the town into not lynching you by being altruistic. and town doesn't want to trick the town.

I disagree (of course). Plus, I'm assuming I'm town...but, with Zinger, I could be wrong.
My goal is to lynch Dante. I've been pretty clear about that. If, by lynching me, it gives everyone else who wants to lynch Dante more info, then it's helpful. I'm not going as far as to self-vote, since i still think I might be able to convince people I'm telling the truth (I am), but, as long as there's a paper trail that can help lead to Dante, then it's helpful.

Of course, I would much prefer to lynch Dante now, and still be alive, but barring that, I'll take him getting lynched after I'm dead.

Read into that what you wish

then do that.

we've established, with Zinger basically confirming, that Inferno is the dominant, town-analagous side. stop pretending like we don't know that now. if you're Inferno, the majority of players want you alive. so instead of playing sad sack and trying to mope your way out of a lynch, try addressing people's concerns. legitimately consigning yourself to death doesn't help your side no matter what, and faking it to try to gain sympathy is a manipulation technique best left to the mafia.

One thing that just clicked in my head, mayube Dante and Lucifer are clear from the abilities?
It'd make sense for Lucifer to be immune from his own domain; Dante is a stretch but I'm sure he wouldn't have gone into hell ill-prepared.
That's the only thing I can see that could be potentially beneficial for NeoSilk.
Yes, I will still be voting him, but that's because I don't want to move my vote unless absolutely necessary, given this is a theory I just concocted and am looking for input on.
