It's naiad or cariatid for me.

I think I would pick the cariatid, but if people rank naiad lower than the deathtoucher we could end up with 2 or 3 of them relatively easily, so naiad.

Naiad is an efficient beater with potentially game-winning upside.

Caryatid is a rampant growth.

Unless I'm underestimating Rescue from the Underworld, Purphoros's Emissary seems to be the best card in the pack, no? Neither of the green cards are especially exciting, and we aren't exactly tied to it anyway.

Emissary and voyages end are the best cards here.

Rescue; as Instant speed, it's great on its own and lets us push reanimator/devotion. With luck, we pick up Merchants.

NJ, what are we drafting against? Are you making the other picks, a program, your friends? I do think you should use your vote for tie-breakers. I'm not against you voting by any means, just that there needs to be a tie-breaker method.

It's one of the best reanimator spells printed in recent memory.

that said, Emissary is bonkers. Voyage's End is really good but if green or red dries up, you can find more blue removal. You pick Emmisaries when you can.

Rescue. Green-black is insane with its resource reclamation, and ox emissary is probably the worst emissary

Emissary over voyage, if we have got one of the best rampers we should also get something good to ramp into and emissary is just that, with the upside of also being a fine creature for 4 mana.
If we get something else good and red we could also spash it since it could ends games easily.

Purphoros's Emissary is a hard to block 3/3, and forcing double-blocks is very scary in this format. If we pick up other accelerators, good 4-drops is what we'll need, and this is a good one. Very late game, the +3/+3 and "hard to block" bonuses will be useful on any other creatures we pick up.

Rescue is a good card, but Phosphorus's Emissary is better.

even if that is true, which is highly debatable, all of the emissaries are very powerful.

this is a hard pick though. Rescue is really good, its your best creature with your best creature in play's ETB effect again. green black and green red are also both really strong.

Stag grants control of the field: you choose what gets negated
Crab grants Card Advantage
Snake grants element of surprise
Ox grants really questionable "evasion"
Cat capitalizes on size with trample.

I know which one I'd prefer to have any of the others over.


Pick 3 should be Ordeal, no question.

I won't choose yet, but I'm leaning towards the Nessian Courser or Horizon Scholar. Note, green seems open, but black is disappearing. The ordeal is only ramp if we get some low cost evasive dudes.
