Give me a link to what you're working on?

Are you trying to link to an image stored somewhere else (like imgur?) or are you linking to a file you've uploaded?

https://web.archive.org/web/20090324051 ... place2.GIF, is it due to being via the way back machine?

Oh. Yeah, see the file isn't on the wiki.

Step One : Save that file to your computer

Step Two : Go to the Upload File page on the wiki. (3rd link under tools)

Step Three : Upload the file.

Step Four : Link to the file on your page in one of the ways suggested by the upload page.

For example :

[[File:MarketPlace_Earth_1.gif|200px|thumb|right|An image of Marketplace Earth]]

Or

[[File:MarketPlace_Earth_1.gif]]

I'll add it to the page so you can see how it works and do another one.

Edit : The image is now loaded on the wiki and linked on the page. Feel free to resize it and move it where you want it.... I just left it the size it normally is and simply put it at the top.

Thanks for fielding that BH.

As I mentioned down in YMTC, I have a rough and dirty looking template for cards up. It can be viewed here: Template:Magic_Card

Obviously, the aesthetics need work and at the moment I'm posting it the mana cost code hasn't cascaded through and done its thing for some reason (something to do with caching I think. Siiiiigh) but this should give a general sense of how I'm planning on putting this organizational structure together.

I'm making a list that has a sub-list which also has it's own sub-list, but I can't figure what the syntax is for the code to get it to align correctly for example:

Legal and Judicial Differences:
2a: Code Napolean in effect.
2b: Mesoamerican, Modern legal system.
2c: Mesoamerican, Classic legal system.
2d: Religious Law is in effect:

2d1: Moselem
2d2: Christian
2d3: Mesopotamian
2d4: Jewish
2d5: Hindu
2d6: Zoroastrian
2d7: Other.

Moselem and the others need to be be indented and under Religious law instead of right below it

EDIT: I think i found the code i needed, i did find the right code but it shows a dot, which i don't want....

Can you link to the page, please? It might help to see the actual text and code.

You can probably create a template for it with minimal effort. Not sure about making it a standard feature, though.

Knowledge knows no bounds.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

Been looking for something like that. But not finding much for mediawiki. Found a ghetto fix for wikia though.

Suppose I could find some cheeky way to simply link to the page itself again.

I'm not sure if linking back to the page would function the same as refreshing the page, and thus keep the current screen location. Either way, it's a pretty inefficient solution to reload the entire thing. Until a proper solution, can I recomment crtl + home?

Alternatively, if you want to delve into some javascript (and have the cabilities of tinkering with such things), consider windows.scrollTo(0, 0). Here's how 4chan does it:
Code:
$.on(
   $.id('identifier'), 'click', function() {
      window.scrollTo(0, 0);
   }
);

Just replace the identifier string with the id of the element you want to click on. Although this is the html element if you're curious.
Code:
<span class="btn-wrap" id="totop">
  <span class="button">Top</span>
</span>

What is this issue?

Also, the stuff you're copying: do you have permission to copy it? And, I assume you're giving credit, right? Right?

Well the issue isnt getting me to the top of the page, its getting other people back to the top of extremely long pages if needed. I dont really mind grabbing the bar and scrolling, using ctrl+home, of even something as ghetto as shift+spacebar (cause its faster than ctrl+home and only requires one hand on the keyboard. :shifty: )

Also I dont have java skills though Im working on it but I do appreciate the effort you put in there as well.

Basically I just wanted a way to make long pages I make more user friendly.
