Its not exactly super official but I suppose it'll suffice for now. Theres still a on of stuff to add and more importantly a ton of stuff to organize.

There are numerous wiki how-tos, both on our site and throughout the web.

When in doubt google is your friend... or you can find a wikipedia page with the sort of formatting you want and check the source code.

If you haven't found the mediawiki guides yet, definitely check them out. They're invaluable. I think these are the ones I've referred to the most:

When I started out, not only was I learning by bumbling around, the Parser functions weren't turned on, so I was writing code that could not possibly work. >_< Took me a while to realize what the problem was there. Oh, but just fyi, I've used a convention common on other wikis where if you would need the symbol "|" for something, but putting it in as-is would cause whatever you're doing to break, you can put in an {{!}}. That way it'll fill the | in after it does whatever weird parser function crap it's doing and only THEN will it template in the | which will in turn allow it to do whatever it is it's trying to do. Uh. In case you're looking at our templates and the templates on other sites and thinking "what the hell is this {{!}} thing," as I did in the beginning.

And like I said, when in doubt go look at a page that already exists for ideas and then stylize your organization based on that.

Now, your first homework assignment is learning how to link that page to the main page and vice versa.

So, how would you go about linking to another intra-wiki page?

The main ITA page.

You link from one wiki page to another by using brackets. So [[Cheese]] would link to the page named Cheese.

[[Name]] is used to link from one wiki page to another. There doesnt even have to be another page yet. You cane write:

"The leader of the ITA is [[Charles Barkley]]."

Then later click the link "Charles Barkley" and go to the page and start building it. If the page 'Charles Barkely' already exists it will simply link to it.

Using full URLs is not only slower, takes more characters, but also less effecient and most likely to cause errors down the line.
