Also, we need a 'walker with some sort of similar proclivities to Manatarqua. Maybe one who prefers to take the form of a wagon? Or a swarm of flies or something? How about just a wall? That should satisfy Keeper's search for ancient "weird."

Walls do have a long and storied history
As well as ancient and terrible foes.

I'd be down with this.

But yeah I think you're probably right that many of them don't know who else is on that master list that we have. I think Szat's initial idea, too, that perhaps several of the people on the list are listed on the wrong side or might not have existed at all is a good one.

It's particularly useful from the perspective of Zhiran, who's reconstructing information after the fact and can't exactly go up to a random 'walker and say "Are you involved in this war? Loyalist or rebel?"

Guys, I don't know how to turn off and since I'm not creating I'm getting REALLY **** TWITCHY HERE...

Like, I'm not even exaggerating and it's legitimately bothering me somewhere deep down.
And this is with a conceptual walker and other stuff I still need to finish perched on my back. It's seriously eating at me.

I wish I had some advice for you, Barinellos. I'm usually pretty good about "turning off." I guess the simple solution is to either just write something, even if you don't intend on keeping it, or distract yourself with a game or movie or something. I myself am watching the Racket Girls MST3k episode and playing a video game. Maybe that will help?

I'm not in the right frame to write at the moment. Actually haven't written anything all day.

This is just like part of the worst possible time for me to need distraction because the house is unusually quiet for the next week or so and I'm too exhausted from work to really start on much of anything. That might change on Thursday, but until then SO MUCH BLOODY WORK...

Edit: Actually, I do have one thing I've written that hasn't been typed yet. I should probably get that out right quick, even if I don't produce anything else tonight.

Well, also, it's important not to put too much pressure on yourself here. I mean, yeah, you have a ton of stuff you're working on, but it's not like there's any real hurry on it. Believe me, I know that impulse to get stuff done, but sometimes I think it's a good idea to not do anything. Let your mind sort of clear itself. I have always been a firm believer in down time, either from work or from creative endeavors.

Is your brain trying to switch you into Do Art Mode? I've been finding lately that if I can't write because I'm jittery, drawing tends to help me calm down and be less neurotic.

I am like... the last person to ask how to turn off though :( My strategies tend to involve alcohol or Tylenol PM.

That's like... not just a different gear, but a different ENGINE altogether at this point.

No, I think once I get this typed up, I'll be able to settle. I just haven't accomplished anything today and I think it's my subconscious's way of putting its foot up my arse for it.

The problem is, I've been up for so long that stopping altogether is causing the issue. That's partly because I haven't had a day off in TWO BLOODY WEEKS.
I need to wind down, not go full stop.

Okay, then. I've got a game for you. Meet me in the new thread (that I'm about to make) and we'll have some fun.

My advice is probably useless in the specifics but it might be helpful by accident.

Whenever I can't turn off, I tend to start working on an open problem in Mathematics. Currently, I work on investigating the Graceful Trees Theorem, which is really nice because it only requires simple arithmetic and can easily be worked on with only pen and paper, but it also can use as little or much brain power as you feel like expending.

Specifics of Graceful Tree Theorem

Good life choices.

I'm particularly fond of the "Are You Ready for Marriage" short preceding the movie. It's one of my favorites.

"Ah, all of a sudden it's iambic pentameter here."
There are too many great shorts to choice one. The two "Hired!" ones together are fantastic, Circus on Ice is great, Money Talks is a favorite, as is X Marks the Spot and Last Clear Chance. Oh, yeah, and Why Study Industrial Arts.

Well, looks like I've got a date with a mst3k shorts youtube playlist tonight...

I keep returning to the thought that, if we ever wanted to try a real-time M:EM event of some kind, we should all agree to watch the same movie at the same time, create a thread for it, and live-riff that thing.

Because it could be a heck of a good time.

It could also be really, really stupid.

But it could be a heck of a good time.

Especially if we add an optional "drink each time you cross-post" variant.

EDIT: See? The fun begins.

*drinks*

I'm not the drinking sort, but that means I'd rapidly become the straight man in our comedy routine.
