has anyone actually read the bourne triology?

the movies **** everything up.

the guy in the movie who is the "head bad guy", turns into bourne's best friend in the story.
his wife never dies in the story
the guy who runs treadstone and gets killed outside his car in the first turns into a good guy and never dies
the third movie was supposed to be about bourne vs another super assassin and in the movie he never even exists.

That really depends on what you're looking for. Religious war? Start with the Moonshaes Trilogy or the Time of Troubles trilogy. History of the elves? Read Evermeet. History of Cormyr? Read Cormyr. The adventures of Elminster? Start with Making of a Mage. The history of Drizzt? Start with Homeland.

I don't do the whole "sit down and read" thing. I've gotten through the beginning of Silmarillion, but then school started and I just stopped. Most of my reading is roleplaying books and board game rules.

I tend to watch YouTube videos for board game rules. I often find that they explain it better than the rules inserts in most games.

But back on topic of reading, I just found all my old Magic and Forgotten Realms books. But im torn as to weather I should just grab em on the Kindle.

I'm reading Catch-22, and its terrific. Absolutely hilarious. I've been on a mission lately to read some modern classics. So far, I've gotten 1984, Brave New World, and The Catcher in the Rye under my belt, and all of them were awesome.

No, seriously, for classics, I can't recommend Fahrenheit 451 enough. Very subversive storyline, although it isn't much touted by these types of threads. I dunno, the story hook just really caught my fascination.

What do you think? It's been a while but I remember enjoying it! It's also the kind of text that sort of slips out of my head within a few months of finishing. . . I hear they're making it into a feature film. I'm a sucker for all that postmodern BS.

Speaking of making movies out of books that shouldn't really be movies, I finished As I Lay Dying a month or two ago. It was brilliant. James Franco is going to butcher it like the assbottom he is.

Um, but currently, I'm reading Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean and This is How You Die by it's an anthology. Disappearing Spoon is lovely. I've been meaning to add more nonfiction to my reading and I'm pretty glad that I did. TiHYD is okay. It was recommended by TurnipSong on the other forum and I picked it up because I liked the first one and Turnip is a wonderful writer. Some of the stories are brilliant - others, not so much. The Sherlock Holmes one was fun.

My stock answer for favorite book is Infinite Jest. David Foster Wallace was a beautiful man and one of my top choices for dead-person-I-would-want-to-take-to-dinner. At least, if I was limited by language.
