Lack of other qualification is a qualification itself! From the point of a flavour consumer, how does the flavour so far appeal to you? What stands out?

You may have Anjomeddon, the Burning Mind deal X damage to you rather than pay the mana cost for spells you cast, where X is that spell's converted mana cost.
7/5

Glacinorak locks the world down and keeps you from taking damage, while Anjomeddon brings a bunch of new stuff into it and hurts you himself.

I don't feel qualified to comment on any of the worldbuilding but a black protagonist is always good in my book.

This. I actually love having black protagonists and like a green or blue antagonist.

I like to think that Anjo has Urabrask syndrome. He has a sentimental side. He sees his followers as pets of a sort. He's fond of them as sort of pets. Ooh that's a good human, you're getting an extra ration tonight! Except Anjo sees the majority of his pets as interchangeable and individually disposable. Unless you're a particularly impressive grand architect or warleader or something. If you're just an average warleader (and over the centuries he's had plenty) Anjo won't take any real personal interest in you. People who aren't his personal playthings are beneath his interest- unless their messing with his followers which are mine damn it and only I get to decide when they die!

@Anjo/Glac relationship
I see them as emotionally distant siblings (twins maybe?). They both detest the other's methods and believe their own way to be superior. They can get along from a distance but both know that if they actually spent a whole week in each other's company they would end up at each other's throats. It is in their mutual interest to avoid each other and preserve their relationship, such as it is.

This is pretty much spot on.
I'd go so far to say that Anjomeddon actually only recognizes the special people as pets, and just looks at average citizens as annoying playthings. The only thing that stops him from destroying them all is that there are a lot of them, and that he knows he won't get them all and that the ones that remain will be more annoying awterwards.

Anjo/Glac relationship seems legit.

Think Glaceon + Ragnorak.

Anjomeddon I think of as willing to watch things burn for his enjoyment. He is selfish and impulsive.
Glacinorak, is more calm and calculating, but that doesn't mean he is any less selfish; he's just smarter about it.

Ragnorak and not, you know... Ragnarok?
If they just have Ragnarok and Armageddon mashed into the name then I might like them even less.

@black protag: Do you want it for any reason other than being different for the sake of it?

I didn't just mash them together. I took Ragnarok because it was a powerful dragon in Age of Mythology, and gave it a more Icy name. I also named my Yveltal Ragnarok, not that that particularly matters, I jsut associate that name with a big dragon content with destroying things.
Anjomeddon started with the base of Armageddon, but then I tweaked it and the pronounciation so it's like a dinosaur (Dimetrodon); not that pronounciation translates well over writing.
I honestly didn't expect my names to stick as long as they did, but that doesn't mean I submitted haphazard names. I put effort in until I was satisfied.

As for the black protagonist, black is my favorite color, and people often claim it's the color of evil, when it's not. I try to put in a good word here and there. Keep in mind I was agreeing with the statement more than it needs to be done here.

A black protagonist for this would be fascinating because we A. already have a powerful merchant's guild that I think we've discussed as being in support of the Moonrise project and B. there's a major plausible reason for a black-aligned person fighting to better the world purely out of self interesting, while C. that selfishness sets up an ideological conflict WITHIN Team Moonrise between the black protagonist and more white-aligned protagonists who are trying to do the greatest good for the greatest number as opposed to... say...

Well, hey, what if the Merchant's Guild wants the path of the Moon to coincide with Steelbridge, to make their own trade efforts easier, but for some reason other factions feel that would be detrimental? I mean, it doesn't have to be a HUGE conflict, but dropping some mentions in flavor text or in a short story could be interesting.

...This probably isn't the thread for that conversation though.

Storyteller.

Flavorful, evocative, and related strongly to the set's mechanics and Anjo's place in the story.

(TP's take is definitely my runner up)

Bwomp. Yeah it's a dragon so that's pretty important isn't it? >_< Totally forgot about that.

Legendaries should be fun and splashy, Shazzeh's is fun and splashy. So, Shazzeh.
Even if Echo's is more of a mirror. But I'd rather remake Glac into something more permanent (and IMHO more balanced).
Edit: Mythics, not legendaries.

Analysis time!
TP - Another stunner from YMTC's handsomest lich! In all seriousness I actually like this. Anjo's willing to hurt everyone to increase his power and he'll probably kill most of your opponent's flying blockers while he does it. Leads directly into a decktype (fatties maybe with a side of burn) but has a built in weakness (reduces his own toughness). Weak to Doran in commander matches.
Altimis - Reflects Anjo's willingness to hurt others. Makes a big splash when it etb. However, I fear there's too much going on with this card and it's not all well-connected.
Mown - Very aggressive. Hurts you, hurts everybody, does it every turn. Somehow I'm just not feeling it though.
Storyteller - A really, really complicated way to pull off something pretty simple. Cool how he benefits from worship though.
Echo_Robin - Ouch! When this guy etb games will end. Even if Anjo immediately bites it, the land continues to burn. I almost worry that this might be too overwhelming in EDH. Draft and constructed shouldn't have any problem though. Also this Anjo does basically exactly what he did in the backstory.
Keeper - Holy damn this guy puts on the hurt. Xie steals a critter, then smashes critters you control into the other player's critters until a ridiculous amount of stuff is dead. Feels a little , but it works in mono . Great design. I'd prefer to focus on the universally destructive sun dragon side of Anjo's flavour rather then the sort-of indirect ruler of a hemisphere side.
Shazzeh - I like how this shows Illpyre's instant/sorcery affiliation. A sweet splashy mythic, but I don't think it really reflects Anjo too well. Not voting for this car, but I do want to see this mechanic in the set somewhere.
Ace - Definitely has that mythic splash. This is almost like one of Kamigawa's Epic spells. Endless turns but opponents can still do everything but play sorcery speed spells/lands. Demands a few combo pieces to really shine (like a way to untap your stuff) but that just makes deckbuilding more fun. Reflects the planes 90000000 hour day pretty well.

I also nominated it for COTW along with Shazzeh's card. I didn't thinkeither were right for the slot, but they're fine, fine cards.

TP. I think it evokes the flavour the best while still being fun and playable.

Echo's has better flavour, but I will...echo mown's sentiment. I'd rather see glacinorak changed than anjo conform to glac's format. And it doesn't seem fun to play with. (Just like glac.)

On the other hand, Shazz's is mechanically better than TP, but flavourfully worse.

So, TP for hitting the sweet spot.

I don't really like my version either. The only thing I had in mind when designing was that when he hit the board, the players should think "woah this game is ending fast" (and the opposite for Glac, "ideally")
