I saw it, and there was even a good card in it. But seriously, modern sets are just so much better than these old ones you all persist in sending me.

We are being strategical. By picking terrible sets, we get the one good card and pass garbage.

just to double check:

someone picked an alpha pack. without going in to too much detail, there is one or more ante cards in it. how do we handle those? we obviously can't actually play for ante. some ante cards are used as opponent punishment, so we can just replace those with paying (that is, your opponent can always opt to "ante" for free) or maybe at least exiling the card so that it maintains functionality against very effects that let players manipulate their top decks. some ante cards, however, are used to justify overly cheap cards that are pretty broken otherwise. I'm not specifying which kind or kinds I'm looking at because I think we should get a consistent answer either way.

Ha ha that was me. I did think of this when I saw the ante card but I figured it was just another blank among the many we are shipping around.

If you ante a card and you lose, it is removed from your deck and given to your opponent. In later games, your opponent may elect to play with that card instead of one of the cards in their deck. You must remove the card from your deck and replace it with another card from your sideboard.

This sounds like the best draft ever.

This assumes you open bombs, the bombs are in your color, and they're even playable. I'd rather play Diabolic Edict ya know?
