So it's official. The steam sale had some nice stuff, but for me it was an official bust. No publisher deals and nothing I can't wait for a giant price drop in that will outweigh the sale.

The Valve Complete Pack was on sale 50% making it only $50 but then again you don't like 98% of the games listed for that pack and it's outside of your wallet's range lol

EDIT:I've been thinking about maybe getting defcon along with three other copies of it so i can play against folks from here

Huzzah, badge crafted, only cost me 14 cents.

I had no issues, ended up picking up four or five games are really good prices. And despite the fact that I already had them, several games went on sale that I was waiting on other people to pick up to play multiplayer with.

Not a bust in my book.

Has anyone played, or head anything about, Thief?

Everything I hear is that the old ones were good, but the new one is your standard crappy reboot they tried to make too "accessible".

Basically it sounds like the new Tomb Raider but twice as bad.

It was only $25 on Day 1.

There's only 3 or four games in the pack that i don't own and the ones i do own i haz no one to play with what's really bugging is that I know of a couple abandoned servers that no one has used in a while for CS:S

I was also reading about Thief which is why I am now watching a video of someone play the Robbing the Cradle level which is supposed to be like one of the best horror levels in gaming.

About Thief - basically what Jack said. Sorta hit it's peak at about the second game back when it was more about massive open environments and more open objectives but sorta hit a few misstrides with Deadly Shadows (Thief 3) by making the whole experience more liner. Not terrible mind just a large departure from the previous two games. Thief (Thief 4) I hear further cuts down on things more but I haven't actually played it yet so I can't say for certain. I got it for a £10 on the sale so I figure at that price I'd give it a fair shake.

A note early on, I think it was labeled #6 said it was written by DS. I'm now scared to come to the forums.
