I think his point is that they end up on the field rather than the grave.
I'm not sure what problem this causes.

It might be time to give the enablers a rest.
You've got a whole bunch already, but you don't have enough discardable threats.
Fate seems ok here.

Yeah, Arrogant Wurm never hits the yard.

But I think Fate might be right after all.... really most of our discards will count for threshold.

you don't just discard madness cards. your discard outlets have upsides, so if you can't madness with them you might still want to play them. an upkeep turnaround is a pretty serious blowout too though. sleep is the blue overrun, and sleep doesn't tap lands.

wait I just read turnaround's rulings, it only affects one type? that is terrible. still basically sleep, but not the blowout I was thinking. then again we are the tempo deck and tempo is where these things shine. ugh, ok fate.

So yes, the Wurm token doesn't, but the card goes to the graveyard when you play it, with madness or without. In fact, one of the things UG madness is good at is achieving threshold.

it's not modal, it's both. although now that I think about it, I forgot that sleep gives you two open attacks, since you can play it precombat, and that was the comparison I was making.
