Card Type Matters (not subtype, I'm talking the stuff Tarmogoyf cares about)
This is the thread where we vote on whether or not to include cards that almost won the vote, but didn't.
How it Works:
People nominate cards. You can't nominate your own card. At the end of each round, I'll gather together all the cards that have been nominated. Then we vote Yay or Nay on each card. Each card with more Yays than Nays gets into the set. Sound good?
Collector of Antiquities Creature—Human Artificer (U) When ~ enters the battlefield, put three Relic artifact tokens onto the battlefield. ~ gets +1/+1 for each artifact you control. 0/1
Right now we're in the nominating phase. We'll vote Yay or Nay on these later.
I'm going to have to do some heavy duty archive trawling this week. Anyways, i remember some of my cards that were well received but didn't match the criteria too well.
Undead Collector Creature - Zombie Wizard When ~ enters the battlefield, you may exile up to one each of creature, artifact, enchantment, land and insstant or sorcery cards from target opponent's graveyard. Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, you may cast one of the exiled cards without paying its mana cost. 3/4 He covets many things in this world, foremost being the world itself.
Too mythic
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may exile an artifact, an enchanment, a creature, a land and an instant or sorcery card from that player's graveyard. Separate those cards into two piles. That player chooses one of those piles and you play all cards in that pile without paying their mana costs.
Originally submitted as a rare, this would be a mythic if it got in the set.
Knowledge Acceleration Instant Until end of turn, instant and sorcery spells you cast cost less to cast. Draw a card.
Etherium Sculptor and the Bannerets say this is doable at common. Not totally sure about first-pickable though. Could make it reduce the cost by two, but that would probably require bumping up the cmc. Anyway, it reduces costs and draws cards, which a spells deck would like.
Edit- Changed cost to 1U, which I thought I had done previously, but apparently did not.

Oops, this was already nominated. Well, guess it's no secret how I'll vote on this one.
Sunchaser Procession Enchantment (U) Oblation — Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may sacrifice Sunchaser Procession. If you do, put three 1/1 white Cleric creature tokens onto the battlefield. Any sunchaser can ascend to divinity, so each new inductee is met with fanfare befitting a god.
Also, Ace of Moxes' flavour text has to make it in somewhere,

I still don't care for oblation, and never did, but if it's a thing then yeah, sunchaser looks like a good oblation card.
Actually I'll just vote for all of these. Parad's rarities look good. Knowledge accel at uncommon. Undead collector's name is a little dry too I think, for a mythic.
I was thinking of a character based on Undead Collector actually. I suppose development could always make it a legend and tweak the stats/cost accordingly. Alternatively it's time to bust out the thesaurus and make it Menagerie Lich or something. Undead Archiver maybe?
Manaruption – Instant (C) As an additional cost to play Manaruption, sacrifice a land. Add to your mana pool. The energy beneath Illpyre can be too much for the earth to hold.
Sparkcatcher – Creature – Faerie Wizard Flying Instant bringer (When this permanent enters the battlefield, you may cast an instant card from your hand with converted mana cost less than that of this card.) In a land of frozen wastes, the tiniest spark becomes the most valuable commodity. 1/1
Vanish into Sand Sorcery (C) Put target permanent with converted mana cost 0 on the bottom of its owner's library. Settlements raided by viashino are gone completely within days: what little the looters leave behind, Illpyre is glad to take.
Hits lands, golems, and other tokens (including relics but why would you do that). It doesn't exactly synergize with your engrave, but it definitely shines in a format where the mechanic is present.
Or does this seem nonred? Either way we need removal that bypasses engrave.
Go Haywire Enchantment—Aura (C) Enchant artifact Enchanted artifact is a 4/1 artifact creature and attacks each turn if able. Under the eternal sun, even machines are eventually driven mad.
Metalbound Monster – Creature – Hound (U) When Metalbound Monster enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you put a chain counter on an artifact you control. Metalbound Monster has defender as long as you control a permanent with a chain counter on it. Haste 5/5
Minitog Creature - Atog (U) Sacrifice an artifact: Minitog gets +2/+2 and gains Haste until end of turn. In the darkest depths of the Academy archives, something moves. And occasionally, burps. 0/1

endless night: nay Collector of Antiquities: yes Undead Collector: nay Knowledge Acceleration: nay, this is either boring or OP, nothing in between. I don't need more storm enablers. Moss Giant: nay. Too much counting for a meager effect. Sunchaser Procession: yes
Manaruption: nay. Sac'ing your first land is never something to encourage Sparkcatcher: nay, I don't like bringer, also small red flyers have drawbacks. Vanish into Sand: nay, not red. Exile target artifact is red's answer to engrave, if we want that. Go Haywire: yes Metalbound Monster: yes Minitog: nay, reprint Atog himself.

I don't see what the problem with Knowledge Acceleration is. I really like it in a stand alone set, but would agree it wouldn't be good to introduce it into eternal formats.
My votes:
Mana Eruption: yes Sparkcatcher: no Vanish into Sand: yes Go Haywire: no Metalbound Monster: yes Minitog: yes Endless Night: yes Collector of Antiquities: yes Undead Collector: yes, depending on rarity Knowledge Acceleration: yes Moss Giant: yes Sunchaser Procession: yes
